Hildenberger is an odd one to me. He goes on streaks of being lights out, then being completely unable to retire a batter. Does he tip pitches or why is it so hit/miss instead of falling somewhere in the middle? That said, I think he'd be best as a specialist, along the lines of LOOGY usage or 6th inning on a well-built pen. Use him as a changeup instead of a fireman. Here's to hoping he puts it together. I expect a short-term pitcher call-up in the meantime just to have a rested arm in the pen. Probably a one-and-done candidate to burn on the 40-man since Romero and Stewart and ineligible for another couple of weeks. Maybe we haven't seen the last of De Jong.
