    In theory, but this is Molitor we're talking about. He'll make sure to use 35 of 40 players on the roster in every game if possible.

    I'm comfortable saying these Twins are still much better than this White Sox team. Better than KC too. The rest of the division...not as much. Hey, they aren't on the bottom anymore.

    I wonder if he's a "small market" guy who prefers playing out of the national spotlight. More likely, he's probably just on a hot streak. Ride it out, see where things sit after Thanksgiving.

    Without Duke and Pressly, I fear it's Hildy to pitch 5/7 days under Molitor's idea of bullpen usage.

    I generally agree, but I think they should keep Sano 6th or lower until at least Sept. Treat him like a rookie at this point, even if they didn't do that in his actual rookie year.

    Or maybe they were handled perfectly, given that they are having success now instead of being called up and flailing like so many others.

    I suspect that's the idea. Get him acclimated to the road lifestyle and, um, resisting temptation or whatever in a less structured environment.

    Sure Magill hasn't been very good lately. I bet he's a better pitcher than their emergency catcher. All I can really say about this game is that it's a textbook example, on both sides, of how not to manage a baseball game.

    I'm frustrated with Buxton and Sano right now too, but seeing you put it in numbers (1 of 3) makes it seem okay, in a sense. Most prospects doing turn out. That said, my real reason for commenting is this. I think the Twins already did that review of the system you're speaking of (and Seth has a comment detailing it). All three names you mention debuted under Terry Ryan before June 2016. He has since been let go and replaced due to a publicly acknowledged "total system failure." These things take time.

    How are Graterol's mechanics? Is he likely to blow out his arm again, like everybody worried about with Liriano? (Not that anybody can truly predict TJ.)

    I expect them to play it similar to last year. Nothing dramatic in terms of buying or selling. The era of the 1-game wild card has reduced how many teams are sellers, for sure.

    I'm no scout, but would you rather have Gordon or Polanco at SS, with the other at 2B? A year ago everyone was ready to move Polanco.

    Who will hit .200 first? Morrison or Wilson? Sadly, I think the latter.

    A single hot streak in the next 3 weeks could turn things around. It sure doesn't look like it will happen, but for me optimism and baseball go hand-in-hand.

    This team can't bring runners in to score. They only score on HR. It's weird how RISP can vary from year to year.

    I, too, would have preferred a 9 run home run.

    Agreement, though I don't know what exactly is going on with Reed (mental vs physical). I'd give him a couple lower leverage appearances first. Hopefully tonight will be a blowout and he can pitch the 9th.

    I didn't think Lynn would get his ERA below 5.00 before Morrison would get to .200. Here's hoping both turn it around for real.

    Because Molitor believes a team needs an 8 man bullpen but should only use the same 4 pitchers every single game. It would also be the perfect scenario to get Reed out there (if he hadn't thrown 30 pitches the day before).
