    I hate to grammar police because this is well-intentioned and I know you mean that a 60 game season will be exciting, but I still feel I should point out that a short season is literally the opposite of what "epic" means.

    Has Wander lost a step from his injuries, or is it mostly rust? I'm curious about Rooker. Will he be more like Sano or Walker III?

    That gray beard still throws me off, considering he's younger than I am. I honestly still wouldn't call it a bad trade It obviously didn't work out to the Twins' benefit but that's in hindsight. Best of luck to him whatever comes next.

    Which may be a statement of how he views this year's pitching class rather than a philosophical statement about power bats.

    I think HS is a better "human element" story, as we get to watch the players grow both professionally and as people. If you're into that part of the MLB storyline, it adds great depth.

    I love looking back at rookie stat lines. In an impatient era, it's easy to imagine the Twins moving on from Dozier at this point.

    Duffey wasn't an effective firefighter in the playoffs. He needs to rebuild my trust.

    I wouldn't put Lohse in the "big trade" category. That was a clubhouse chemistry issue. But I agree with the general statement about big trades often not delivering as advertised.

    I was so hopeful of a long-term Santana/Liriano/Garza top 3. A few years later, all three were gone or different (post-TJ) pitchers.

    Meh. "Star power" is about marketing, not baseball. I'd rather have a team of above-average players working well as a team than a few celebrities hawking Nike products.

On a purely "because they're rivals" level: Today: Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks 2000-2010s: Jermaine Dye (similar reason as others naming Konerko) early '90s: Wade Boggs (because Gaetti was my favorite player and he was always second in all-star votes)
