  1. Maybe it's to send a message to the underperforming catchers already on the roster. I wouldn't be surprised to see Telis get the start today.
  2. The Twins dealt with Rodney and Parker in very different ways.
  3. Way to take one of the few positives so far this season and put a negative spin on it.
  4. Eh, every prediction in early April is far fetched.
  5. I believe replacements/call-ups do not have to be on the 40-roster. Kiriloff gets another chance. I wonder who else.
  6. 100% this. I wouldn't surprised to see him sent to St Paul once they begin AAA games to gain more experience that way. That probably depends if Garver can figure it out.
  7. Twins have been better on the road in recent seasons. Perhaps it's just the cold in 2021, perhaps it's continuing a trend.
  8. I prefer day games. I can watch at work. And it's how baseball was meant to be played. Now get rid of the stupid 7 inning games and free base runners.
  9. They signed Dobnak to that contract for a reason. I assume they want him pitching in MLB.
  10. Hell of a pitching duo for a DH. Love the "second MLB debut" line. I will reluctantly refrain from further comment.
  11. Was it political when they cancelled the game after the I-35W bridge fell too?
  12. I see some Sano positives. Not in the stat sheet, of course. Rose colored glasses: He was striking out in week 1, popping out in week 2. That means he's getting closer with his timing. And he's drawing walks, so it's just completing flailing at bad pitches. Polanco has me more concerned and I wonder if any of it is the new position. Not sure what think of Jeffers. I could see him being sent down when the AAA season starts.
  13. He's far more likely to be the next Delino DeShields Jr.
  14. Colome was bad, but there's a lot of blame to go around when you give up 8 unanswered runs. Not to defend his performance, but 73 pitches in a week is a lot for a one-inning specialist.
  15. There's a Blake Parker or Addison Reed letdown every year. It's about how the roster adjusts over the next 145 games as this stuff ebbs and flows. I'm disappointed in Colome, but it will be sorted out.
  16. I may remember it wrong, but I think he preferred to DH on non-pitching days as compared to playing OF.
  17. I agree about the Buxton specific part here, but I think an unwritten subject of all these "Yankees Curse" years is that the team's core players have often been injured in October, from Morneau to prospect Sano to Donaldson and Buxton. Fingers crossed this is the year (and every year to follow).
  18. I disagree, as that means they've given up on the majority of players in their system. They weighed the pros/cons vs the odds of a rare transaction and maybe lost. They didn't give up on a player. That would be waiving him. They gave up on David Ortiz. And, from the looks of TD, Baddoo is the new Ortiz
  19. Since when is not being on the 40-roster "giving up" on a player?
  20. In Rooker's defense, he may have been playing with an oblique injury.
  21. As much as I hate replay...I'm okay with this. I wonder how I'll feel about the 10th inning rule next time.
  22. So if nobody comes off the bench, Cave and Sano will lead the team in games played? 150 games for position players is as rare as 200 IP for starting pitchers these days. Not complaining; just observing.
  23. It's nigh-impossible to compared a hitter to a pitcher. Both have considerable injury risk, Berrios just for being a pitcher. If Buxton can hit for power, that cancels some of the loss of speed he'll inevitably suffer. The real question is if Buxton can stay healthy now that he's a bit older. If so, and if forced to choose, I'd say Buxton. Given their track records, Berrios is set up better for a long-term deal at the moment though. Maybe Buxton with a buyout option in the middle?
  24. I wonder if teams will start walking the first batter in extras. Seems like a force at all 3 bases would almost make it easier...
