  1. Eh, at least Paddack almost got through 5. I expected 2 the way things started.
  2. What's the term? Consistently inconsistent?
  3. I know nothing about the man personally, but I was hoping a return to the West Coast would light some kind of fire. Not looking that way.
  4. I think we may see Paddack on the IL tomorrow with some kind of post-TJ soreness.
  5. Way too many SB off the bullpen this year in particular. Pitchers need a meeting on it...or something.
  6. I disagree with the premise that a high performing prearbitration player will come "cheap." In trades, you're trading for the contract as much as you are the player.
  7. This story is definitely super weird (mostly the timeline). But anything talked about here is pure speculation. It's possibly selfishness on AK's end. It's more likely naivety.
  8. Because Twins Daily needs TWINS DRAMA!
  9. Lopez has been inconsistent to bad this year. But nobody could have pitched in the weather of the first 6 innings yesterday. The game shouldn't have been played. But I'll take the W.
  10. AK is lucky the Twins didn't put him on the minor league IL. It would have been harsh, but this is kind of a no-win situation that shouldn't have come to this. It's also a super weird situation, because when you're performing this poorly you should be communicating with your team. If nothing else, for coaching purposes. As far as I can tell from my seats 6 miles south of Target Field, this has nothing to do with Cal Ripken and I don't understand that part of the article. It feels more like the author is trying to connect some dots that aren't there.
  11. Thank you. The drama in these headlines is too much sometimes. Every day it's a new post that basically says "the next transaction is the most important in history [until tomorrow's]"
  12. If this was a trade for a controlled Alonso this seems fair. But it's not. He's a rental, as everyone above me already pointed out too.
  13. Saints clubhouse manager job just got easier, with only one Diego Castillo to keep track of. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/06/diego-castillo-elects-free-agency-twins.html
  14. Yeah. The heat index warning is legit. But just be smart about it. And that's what the trainers are paid for. The dugout has AC, I bet. It's definitely shaded. The clubhouse definitely does. Target Field is big enough that it gets a breeze at times. It's currently overcast too, which means less intense heat.
  15. This isn't one of those free YouTube/Facebook/Roku/etc days is it? Damn cold won't go away so I'm stuck on the couch all weekend. A doubleheader sounds perfect.
  16. My honest thought through most of this discussion has been "this board sure is showing its age demographic."
  17. I'd rather play in this weather than tomorrow's 100 degrees if I had a choice.
  18. I thought we were talking about HR leaders at Target Field. Maybe I missed something here.
