  1. This is already in the minor league forum here: This thread is specifically for the Twins 40-man off-season roster moves
  2. I split this off. The other thread was really for during the 23 season. It doesn’t make sense to have part of the off-season in one thread, and part in another. And when the season starts, we will start a new transaction thread to keep track of the up and down. It’s a little different because in season we are looking more at the 26-man and and the transactions that affect that. During the off-season it’s mostly the 40=man with an eye to next spring of who will make the 26-man.
  3. Didn’t he try to make a diving catch and missed?
  4. This is how the Yankees bought so many championships
  5. Oh well ... so much for that :)
  6. Doesn't matter to me if he was a Yankee ... I'd love for him to take a loss because it's him
  7. Awww
  8. Hey, I’m way on board with your Marni suggestion. Without hearing the other auditions, she’d be my first choice. I’d like to see suggestions from people that do not include any current pbp announcers.
  9. Oh great … EAR WORM!
  10. Yeah, and subject the rest of us to a 'Hawk Harrelson' equivalent. no thanks! :)
  11. That actually says nothing. Why don’t you try an actual rebuttal using a little bit of fact and data? If you don’t like him, then bring something legitimate to the discussion. And all great people had great teachers, so let’s not be putting down teachers which is what your post did.
  12. I’m pretty much putting tiger balm everywhere. It’s the cologne of the arthritic elderly
  13. I had heard that when he was done playing baseball he was thinking he’d go to med school. Guess he didn’t do that, but yeah. One smart guy.
  14. Winner might be a matter of perspective 🙂
  15. More yikes, and big yuck for such depravity … Dustin Mohr arrested on multiple counts of child sex crimes
  16. He said those things AFTER he announced his retirement. He kept quiet so long as he was employed. He made the decision to retire, announced it, then took the moment to say it like it is.
  17. In a thread about trading high, these three would not be in that category
  18. He was also the pitcher when Mauer finished his career. And I think Belisle came out of the game just after Mauer and that was his end, too.
  19. Congratulations and best wishes in the next life … And good for you …
  20. Please comment in this thread:
  21. I wonder, considering how some of these longer pitcher deals have worked, if others might be leery of going longer than three yrs with Gray. I mean, it might be 50-50 that we are able to work out a deal with him for the 2-3 yrs you mentioned. But pitching always goes higher because it's pitching.
  22. Or ... 'Have loved it here and would love to return, but, this is my shot, and for me and my family I need to take the best offer, regardless who makes it.' I mean, people think there is no truth behind what he says? That he hates it here and can't wait to leave, but is saying otherwise? He's being diplomatic but he could also be genuine at the same time. All he's saying, really, is, he liked it here, is open to staying, but will seek the best deal. And no one faults him for that, especially the Twins org. And of course there's more to it than money, but, money will be a huge factor. He's pitched well enough to get a really good offer, and he knows it. We know it, the Twins know it, and it's not likely we will win, and everyone knows it.
  23. I might do 2-3 yrs (I said might) for Gray. More than that? I'd be leery. I think he's a good mentor and would like to see him be solidify the starting staff. People like to over-dramatize things. I don't think Sonny ever had an issue with Rocco specifically ... he's just really competitive and always wants the ball and I think that's all that was, imo. But folks here and elsewhere need their conspiracies. I think how he was handled in MN helped him to be successful and I think he knows and appreciates that. But ... who knows. Players are always going to speak positively, or at worst, neutrally, about teams they've been with when seeking a new deal. Whatever happens, in a Twins uni or another, I wish him well ... unless he's with another team in the AL central. 😉
  24. Lol, I just read the last choice. Missed it the first time through
