  1. Yeah, I agree it ended up not being that close. But that's in partial thanks to Correa and partial thanks to Bichette for hesitating just a minute. The thing is, any less than absolute perfection on Correa's part, however, leads to a score. His instinct and quickness and making a spot-on throw ... saved a run. Listen to Bichette's interview post-game. He said it had to be executed perfectly to get him and it was. And given the choice, he'd do the same and run ... because it would have to be perfectly executed. I'm sure other SS could have made that play. And I'm sure plenty wouldn't have made that play. It was a good play by a heads up SS with good baseball instincts and a good arm.
  2. This is absolutely wrong. Look where everyone is standing before the play begins. Julien is pulled way over, Correa was behind 2nd base. He was covering 2nd base for a throw to come to him. As soon as Polanco bobbles it he springs into action. He wasn't standing there lazily just watching. He was covering where he was supposed to cover. I get how y'all are coming to this incorrect conclusion, but it is incorrect.
  3. Unless the Rangers beat the O's ...
  4. We'll have to wait until the next round ... and the round after that 🙂
  5. thanks! Then let's hope Texas beats the O's and we beat the 'stro's 🙂
  6. Except they don't have home field advantage for this series, and likely not for any remaining series (someone correct me if Im wrong) ... 2 in Houston, 2 at home, 1 in Houston if needed. They will have an advantage, hopefully, when they do play here.
  7. Somewhere is a photo of me in a 1965 AL champs sweatshirt … I’ll have to find that now
  8. I would consider trades a part of it because it took players within our system to get it done, but we each have our own ideas on that.
  9. Yeah, I said that elsewhere. He was cruising, too.
  10. I couldn’t watch, but on the radio they said not only did Berrios looks mad, but so did the players. It turned the tide of the mental side of the game, me thinks
  11. I didn’t know if they would, but I certainly thought the potential was there
  12. A lot of Floridians are transplants, so they cheer on their 'first' team. Not to mention the Yankees have lots of inroads in that area due to doing their ST in Tampa.
  13. No ... that's not how that play went. Correa was covering 2nd base. He was pulled way over because Julien was pulled way over. It was actually very heads up of him to get over there
  14. Yep. Correa had to make a play that many couldn't and it had to be spot on. It was. He was beat by a great play not over-aggressiveness. Bichette even commented on that in a post-game interview. Said he'd do it again.
  15. When I encounter issues, I usually send Brock a message on FB.
  16. Lol ... @Brock Beauchamp? Are you on that? Welcome to TD ... game threads are a great place to jump in on ... enjoy!
  17. That's always been our model for game threads. But ... well ... you know. That said, I've said from the beginning that I think this team had a lot of possibility to it. I was hopeful, but tempered, because, well, you know. But they had so much potential. I'll be sad if it's not realized further, but yes, we made it past this one big, monkey hurdle, we can certainly make it past the next and the next and the next ...
  18. Yep ... we've played the long game all season. Now it's win every game and win the first one first.
