  1. Thank you for spelling it out like this! It's easy to grumble because the results aren't exactly what you want ... but this shows we are moving forward, in the right direction.
  2. I'm planning to be there for all three games. Hopefully I can wreak some amusement by running across the field and into the dugouts. Do you think Sano will be happy to see me?
  3. A rookie call up already has had an impact. His name is Arraez. Let’s hooe for another rookie impact, this time a pitcher named Graterol!
  4. Make sure the volume on your computer is all the way up to watch that.
  5. Yeah ... I don't know who would be the right candidate for removal. I'm not sure I'd remove Stewart to be replaced by O'Rourke, though. But seeing as our 40-man roster is currently at 39, someone will be added prior to Sept. 1, so they would be eligible for the playoffs. I'm guessing Graterol ... but ... I really have no idea who it will be. And if we add anyone else ... i.e. O'Rourke or Alcala ... I'm have no idea who would be removed in their place.
  6. None of Graterol, Alcala, Colina, O’Rourke are on the 40-man. One will be added prior to Sept. 1, but who? As for the others, someone would have to be removed for them to be added and I’m not sure I see that happening. So when rosters expand not sure if we will see any of these but one.
  7. Lol ... did you happen to read the title of this thread? That said, links are always appreciated. Saves me a step from looking it up myself.
  8. Lol ... it was about 90% in Chinese with subtitles. Finally saw it today. It was pretty good but there are lots of subtitles.
  9. Yep, and further, last night's minor league report said Buxton was starting rehab today in Cedar Rapids.
  10. Rockette B Squirrel ... in my family, my cousin and I go by Rocky and Rocki ... hehe
  11. Oh, yes, yes, yes! Especially about the trapped thing. And I’m rather fond of Danish modern furnishings!
  12. Great article! It was a fun game to see! And I'm so glad security didn't throw me out for running on the field! And did you see Abreu jump when I ran by first? (Not sorry about that, hehehe.) But I made one correction ... please make sure you get that right next time!
  13. Couple of notes ... During the broadcast (I was listening to the Sox broadcast), the broadcasters were having fun with the squirrel. Then the Twins started scoring and they said, "I didn't know that was a rally squirrel." And, of course, the squirrel had a prominent place in the Sox post-game report. Also in the post-game report, they put up some numbers. Cruz and Kepler have combined for 8hr and 20 rbi against the Sox so far this year. That's amazing, but I guess when you are putting up the hits you are against a team, and score the runs you are against a team, that's expected. From just two players.
  14. I'm a tennis player who has had elbow tendonitis, or possibly radial tunnel syndrome (never received a definitive diagnosis from the ortho), a shoulder impingement (but this I blame on softball, not tennis), tennis leg, and now ... not sure what, but I'm guessing bicep tendonitis (something I've had before, but it hurt lower and now it seems to be affecting me in the front shoulder area) and possibly some arthritis mixed in. Whatever, it's been manageable, but all this information is really useful. And no ... I'm not using you to diagnose myself ... just information gathering.
  15. That was the White Sox song during the 2005 season. And the owner actually had Journey come and sing at the rally after the victory parade.
  16. Hahaha ... Dear Dave St. Peter: We need a song that becomes our tradition, to sing at the stretch at Target Field, like Texas has 'Deep in the Heart', and the SF Giant sing 'Lights of the City' and they sing 'Sweet Caroline' at Fenway. I think the new Target Field tradition should be 'Baby Shark' and we can all get into it. So much fun! Sincerely, Twins Fan
  17. How many teams have their own 'traditional song'? I've only been to two that had a 'regular thing', that team's tradition, and the whole crowd got into it. So much fun.
  18. Did they do ‘Deep in the Heart of Texas’? That used to be a mainstay and everyone got into it. In San Fran it’s ‘Lights of the City’ and everyone gets into it. I just really dislike these ‘performances’ in the middle of the game. Before or after? Great. Whenever they break and say ‘and now so and so will sing ...’ I groan. More often than not it’s a terrible rendition of whatever. Sometimes it’s so augmented you can’t sing along. And there are times I’ve been shushed for singing along so some do think we’re all just supposed to stand there and listen to the performance. We’re there for the game. Let’s do the traditional thing and move on. That’s just how I feel about it.
  19. I realize I probably started this back and forth with my comment "But don’t get me started on the singing ‘God Bless America’ at all. Or turning these moments into spectacles rather than all of us participating", so I'm going to remind everyone ... this isn't about anyone's individual patriotism, so let's not go there. I'm not a fan of the song, never have been, and think Irving Berlin has done much, much, much better than this composition. And I cringe when I hear it. For me, it's not about being patriotic or not, it's just ... ugh ... there are better songs out there, imo. If you want to stay with the patriotic theme, 'America the Beautiful' for instance, is just a beautiful song. Further, at these moments in the game, I think fans should be encouraged to participate ... whether it's singing this song, or any other song ... and this moment has been turned into 'concertizing' rather than encouraging fan participation or appreciation. I just don't like that aspect. At all. And it has nothing to do with my or anyone else's patriotism. Also, 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' has been that tradition for so many years, and I don't like that being supplanted. Again, it has nothing to do with my or anyone else's patriotism. But back to the article ... whatever the song ... I feel for the performer as one myself. But he'd probably have done better with a better song to sing. And it has nothing to do with my or anyone else's patriotism. So let's not go there.
  20. Thanks, Nick. I like these weekly reviews ... perfect for being busy and having less time to read everything everywhere ... these are great.
  21. I'm all for pre-recorded and for fans to participate. I'm not for making each singing some sort of 'concert' or 'performance.' And I'm NOT for singing these things like dirges ... pick a tempo that is conducive to participation rather than to show off your skills. This is why I'd prefer the National Anthem be sung once at the first game of the series ... for all of us ... so it has true meaning, for all of us ... and not have to endure these horrible 'concertizing' spectacles. I find that more disrespectful than anything.
