  1. Given where the Yankees are playing their final games, not sure the Twins take home the home run record
  2. Gardy wasn’t the manager when Ortiz was here. It was Kelly who had his issues with him. Nonetheless, I don’t think Ortiz’ time in MN is a good comp to Sano anyway. I don’t know what an extension would look like or if he’s earned that yet. If he’s here two more years, I think talk about it next season. Let’s see what he does this offseason and if he can play the whole year next year.
  3. You sound like a hopeful Boston fan ...
  4. This particular story goes before that, though. He went undrafted. What scout saw him playing for the Utica Unicorns and convinced the Twins to sign him? What did they see? Were they just looking for filler or did they see 'that' potential? I'd like to read that scouting report. But after that, it was about giving him the ball. And they did.
  5. It's not a coincidence that this team was constructed as it was given the nature of the ball. If they 'unjuice' it, you'll probably see more of what you are missing in the game is it is this year.
  6. MLB channel has good coverage. Was able to see some of the coverage. They ended their segment following Romo running around the field at Tiger Stadium. Lol.
  7. The article didn't say anything about 'the Twins investigating Giants'. You make that sound like there is an official ongoing investigation when the article you linked said this: "The situation led to discussions between the Twins and Giants to determine what they knew about Dyson’s condition before the deal was made. The Twins have been unable to find any evidence that the Giants had knowledge of an injury. So Dyson and the Twins are bracing for surgery — and the possibility that Dyson, who’s arbitration-eligible for next season, won’t return to the mound until the middle of the 2020 season." So, how is this some major REPORT? It doesn't sound like there is anything more than they made inquiries and found nothing intentional on the Giants' part and are moving on.
  8. Yeah ... it's going to be a tough choice ... and I'm not sure about 13. And like someone above said, I think Perez will be there over Harper. But I really have no idea what the actual will be and I'm certain there will be some surprise in there.
  9. MOD NOTE: Please keep to topic. We already have many threads discussing Gibson and discussing the BP. Graterol ... that is the topic ... will he be on the post season roster, should he be, what will his role be moving forward? Please keep it there ... at least for the first couple of pages of discussion. Thanks.
  10. I read that there is a link between e.coli and diseases such as ulcerative colitis. And I'm guessing that was the beginning of it. He said he was dealing with it all season, so the timing makes sense. It's so unfortunate for him. Just when he is putting it together ... stuff happens. I guess that's life and nothing is a for sure thing, but he's certainly had his share of it.
  11. Right. For me it wasn't him trying for 3rd ... he could have made it if he hustled out of the box. He also might have made it had it not been a perfect play on the ball and throw to third.
  12. Oh, I forgot about Jeffers. I'm not a fan of Astudillo behind the plate ... he's okay in a limited role there. It's nice to know we have some strong possibilities in Rortvedt and Jeffers.
  13. I'm somewhat surprised Gibson is pitching? Is he healthy? Or rather healthy enough? It seemed that his last appearance out of the BP kind of told us he wasn't healthy. I hope they have a short leash with him, but I guess they need to see where he's at and if he will be an option in the post-season. I have my doubts, but am hoping for a good showing tonight.
  14. I am excited about Rortvedt and am looking forward to seeing how he does this Fall. Maybe by the end of the Fall League I'll actually be able to spell his name without looking it up! How well he does could affect how the Twins proceed on their catcher decisions in the off-season?
  15. What part do you disagree with? The title? its content? Specific parts of the content? That it exists at all? Asking for friends.
  16. We scored early and often last night, too. All I want is just one more run than them ... no more, no less.
  17. I just couldn’t stay up and awake so missed it all. But mostly, was looking forward to then missed the post-game recap with Ozzie Guillen.
