  1. Is that the name of some kind of whiskey and vodka concoction?
  2. Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 12, position players Feb. 17 ... today is Jan. 14 ... so .... SOON-ISH!
  3. Man ... get together for dinner with my next door neighbors and I miss everything!
  4. You know ... I think a LOT of batters take way too much, time ... in and out of that batter's box.
  5. Moderator note: To remind readers, there has been an ongoing discussion about this case in the Other Baseball forum. Since it was contained to the Astros, and now somewhat Boston, and a more general discussion, it wasn't a Twins article so remains there. But in case you want to read/see all the comments so far, from the time this came to light back in November, here is the link to that discussion thread: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/35518-astros-being-investigated-for-using-tech-to-steal-pitching-signs/page-6?do=findComment&comment=949361
  6. Angry? No, I’m not angry. A little disappointed and frustrated, but, for me, it’s just difficult for me to expend that much energy on something I have zero control over, unless I forget, as I do from time to time. But I do have control over what I spend my money on and could choose to limit my spending on games and whatnot. And I keep reciting my mantra in times like this ... ‘It’s only a game, it’s only a game.’ Yeah, I’d prefer it to be a joyful diversion from other aspects of life and death around the world, but, there it is ... it’s not life or death here. That all said, imo, I’ll give it a bit more time, until the season starts, before I hand out my grade, but the FO needs to turn in one heckuva final!
  7. It always takes two in these case ... I don’t think it’s a ‘pick a side’, finger pointing issue. This is also just how it’s done. And given what pitchers have gotten this year, I don’t blame him for wanting to optimize what he will earn. And there is still time. They could come to an agreement before they actually get to arbitration.
  8. Did you read this thread before reading the news on Sano? I’m hoping they are going to work out a deal with Berrios, too.
  9. Maybe they are trying to work out a deal with him and that’s the hold up, and not $375,000.
  10. I've seen some of his workouts and activity on instagram. He looks like he's kept up with some kind of regimen.
  11. If you want to complain about TD, and the types of stories being presented, please do ... but do it here: http://twinsdaily.com/forum/13-questions-about-minncentric/ Or contact one of the owners. But please be respectful to the contributing writers and comment on what they have taken time to present.
  12. Okay, everyone ... take a breath ... back to the topic, and not on each other and insults.
  13. No, I wasn’t trying to be provocative at all. I was saying if they do open their checkbooks for Donaldson, I think it shows there is a willingness to spend. And if there is a willingness to spend, then perhaps there could be some truth to Wheeler and Bumgarner not wanting to come here for other reasons. But the point of my post was that it doesn’t matter, we are still where we always are ... without the pitching I think we need.
  14. Point taken. I removed my initial warning
  15. If they do open the checkbook and sign Donaldson, wouldn’t that just give some credence to the stories that pitchers signed elsewhere because they wanted to be elsewhere? Something we can never know for sure. But ... that still leaves us where we always are, as I said in my post above ... still in need of pitching that has a chance of getting it done.
  16. Where are we now? About where we always are ... in need of pitching and hoping a couple of the young ones step up. Albeit, I think some of the young ones are a bit more hopeful than in the past, but ... here we are. Where we pretty much always are.
  17. Rosario’s first at bat, first pitch, ever in the majors ... home run. And then seeing his family’s reaction. But the Mauer one ... that still makes me teary. The game against Detroit where we came back in the 9th from a ... was it a 6-run deficit I think? ... that was awesome, Dozier was awesome.
  18. Ah, so you were commenting on the title and not the body of the article. I don’t know, honestly. A whole season of Sano could prove interesting. So could a season with Kep healthy. Those would be my players to watch make enough headway and differences in the season upcoming to garner mvp attention.
  19. Thanks for your perspective ... and your support against the White Sox!
  20. It’s been on my list since before it was released. I’ve been trying to interest my Mom in seeing that one, but she’s so so on it. May have to wait until I get back to ChiTown ... hopefully it will still be playing at my neighborhood theater.
  21. We all know by now your thoughts on Buxton, so before we turn this thread into a Buxton debate, the OP asked who do you think the 2020 MVP will be? Yes, not Buxton, but who do you think that will be? Someone currently on the roster, someone outside yet to be named?
  22. Please stick to the topic. thanks!
