  1. It says this at the end of the 2nd paragraph: (Players may only be optioned five times per season; after that, it requires outright assignment waivers to assign the player to the Minor Leagues.)
  2. Yes, that’s what I was thinking. And reading on this, I find no mention that double headers don’t count toward the 5 options, so I’m guessing they do? Again, wish it specifically clarified this. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/minor-league-options
  3. I thought I read somewhere that it didn’t include call ups for double header additions? It didn’t count for this in the past, correct?
  4. Okay ... that's why ... they 'free streamed' a couple of ST games ... not this one ... but the audio is streaming so that's good, especially at work
  5. I ninja'd you both in my opening ...
  6. It doesn't come up for me ... did you pay for it? I don't have an MLB.tv subscription
  7. Okay ... well ... I'm able to stream the radio broadcast ... but I can't stream the television broadcast ... but is it showing on BSNO? I'm out of market so can't get that ... and we're starting!
  8. We have a game thread set up … let’s move game day conversation there
  9. I think we’re all looking at different schedules. I don’t think originally it was scheduled to be televised, but I think the powers that be may have changed their minds
  10. Really? When I looked at the Twins website, it listed nada ... well then ...
  11. There is no stream today, sadly. No radio that I could find. Nothing, except gameday. Why post a game thread then? Because it's Correa's first game as a Twin. Ryan is pitching. And the lineup looks suspiciously like it could be an opening day lineup with a possible tweak here or there. (I'm sure there will be a few iterations of this before it's actually opening day.) It's a pity that we can't watch or listen, truly. And yes, it's an indictment on MLB for not just opening up ALL of spring training games for everyone everywhere. And the weather in Fort Myers today looks perfect, according to my weather app ... sunny, low humidity, breezy, 80 degrees. Oh, and on top of that? It's Minnesota Day at Hammond Field. Sigh. And I'll be at work this afternoon. Up north where it's also sunny, but cold. Anyway ... if anyone is following ... feel free to comment ... Yeah, it's not a 'real' game thread ... as I said, this is an indictment on MLB, because, it is. It's more than a shame. Lineups: RED SOX Hernández, CF Devers, 3B Bogaerts, SS Martinez, DH Vedugo, LF Dalbec, 1B Vázquez, C Bradley, RF Araúz, 2B Whitlock, P TWINS Buxton, CF Polanco, 2B Correa, SS Kepler, RF Sano, 1B Kirilloff, LF Sanchéz, DH Urshela, 3B Jeffers, C Ryan, P
  12. I don't think the OP was making any such claims
  13. The fact that several teams were interested in the A’s pitchers and there wasn’t a trade, or even a ‘someone is close’ rumor, for EITHER pitcher, makes that speculation a fairly logical conclusion.
  14. Small correction ... he's not on the 60-day ... he is expected to start pitching in early May, I think I read ... likely in Wichita. But the rest of your post stands
  15. If I had to guess, I'd say that Celestino will start the year in AAA - and if Buxton goes on the IL (yes, I specifically chose the word 'if' instead of 'when'; hope springs eternal), Celestino will be called up. Celestino could be the call up for anyone in the OF, really. To give Buxton a day off here and there, I think Gordon will be the fill in. Again, just my guess based on everything that's been said in these forums and articles. While Celestino didn't have a stellar time up in the majors last year, he was really up prematurely, imo, having no time in AAA. Toward the last half of the season in AAA, he seemed to really be picking up steam.
  16. I actually had to think about that ... and I'm definitely not young
  17. There's a reason neither A's pitchers have been traded. The price is too high and no one is willing or able to pay. Considering all the teams who were interested, and not one took the bait, that says a lot. We'll roll with what we have and hope that's enough. But I'm not interested in an overpay at this point until I know exactly what we've got and what our chances really are. I mean ... one year for Manea and two years for Montas ... that's not enough for a high price tag
  18. Hope they have it televised ...
  19. Well, credit due yes, but a savvy move, too. Look how well he hit at Target Field. Positioning your client to (hopefully) have a monster year at the plate certainly won’t hurt in obtaining Correa’s long contract desires from someone. But, whatever the motivation, glad he’s ours for at least a year
  20. Yep. Not so concerned with how they do it than who does it
  21. This started my day with a laugh ... lol ... thanks
  22. I mean, we are talking Correa here. I'd be more concerned with Polanco making the adjustments than Correa, quite honestly. But I'm not exactly 'concerned' about either, tbh. There's a reason Correa is the best out there right now.
  23. With expanded rosters through May 3, won't that give them some flexibility? They could take an extra starter north with them and plan a 6-man rotation for the first month, or carry a couple extra BP arms so their starters don't have to go long into games, or do some piggybacking, as was suggested above. I'm not so worried about needing a 5th starter right away as I am with ... who will that be?
  24. It’s already been decided and stated that Jax (along with Thorpe) will be in the pen and will no longer be starting.
  25. No, not exactly ... we can talk about anything including baseball
