    Okay, don't laugh. I have an arthritic condition in one foot that has resulted in me wearing custom orthotics and stiff-soled shoes with a bit of a rocker bottom. Alas, all my glorious high heels and designer shoes are out the window in place of the clunkiness of, well, shoes like Hoka Bondi and the like. So, found this brand ... DeckersXLab ... and they look very promising and fit my need for 'unique' shoes. (Yeah, okay, I could put a link to Fluevogs here, but I won't.) Anyway ... anyone ever try these? All the reviews seem very positive, but, just thought I'd ask. Anyone?

    Simmons was a flat out 'never' for me, so I'm fine with him going to the Cubs. Rodon, meh ... wasn't first on my list when there were more options, but not sure I really wanted him even as a last resort. The problem isn't who we sign or don't sign at this point. It's that this is what we are left with, and now not even that. There's still the possibility of a trade. Not holding my breath. We could still sign a legit SS, which would help the young pitchers, to have good defense behind them. That seems to be the only logical plan left, imo ...

This above said: The change in options rules is significant, as it will limit teams’ ability to continually keep their rosters (particularly their bullpens) fresh with guys taxiing back and forth from the Minors. Anyine know what those rules now are?

    I think this is a good thing. As I said in another thread, I think baseball has become too regionalized. And with the universal DH, I have fewer opinions now of interleague play.

    I read somewhere ... probably on Twitter and don't remember the source, so, consider the non-source ... commenting on this, and said that MLB had some new things like this all lined up but were waiting to complete negotiations before making any of those announcements, but that in this case, Apple jumped in with it ... hmmm ...

    Yeah ... I would love to see that and think that the between inning time is one of the biggest time wasters. But ... ad dollars ... Even so, I think the pitch clock is also a good thing.
