    I think it will depend on Miranda and Gordon. Last I heard both were cleared for all activity. Not sure where Miranda is in his throwing, but Gordon was in a game recently, I think. But if both are fine and head north, I don’t think there is a need to add Castro. We could gain some BP flexibility if the team would release Pagan, but they seem committed to at least start the year with him, unfortunately.

    No, probably not. If he were a choice to go north, he wouldn’t have been optioned already. It means that either Larnach or Wallner make the team if Polanco is truly not ready.

    It’s just Pablo López remaining, with Venezuela, right? Can’t see any other current Twins on remaining teams’ rosters. How soon will these players be back in camp? I’m assuming they are given a day?

    Long man initially, mop up guy after that? But Dobnak was my first thought, too, but who knows. They could be working a trade for someone, or who knows. Imo, the BP is far from settled.

    And Mexico wins! Wow! Would never have thought that both PR and DR would be out. Esp. DR. But that was some game. Perseverance wins out for Mexico!

    I still use cable. It's part of my assessments, so, I don't have a choice. However, my building gets a group rate, so, it's way less expensive than if I were a single user.

    I’m not sure why this suggestion keeps popping up. He is never going to make the team out of ST. There is zero chance. We have better options already on the roster. If he gets a call up it means something has gone terribly wrong not just with Kirilloff but also with about 4-5 players who are way better options.

    As has been discussed many times, it's not just about veterans getting their time in, it's about evaluating those on the cusp, and filling out those last roster spots. Some veterans like the long ramp up and participating in games, others prefer to get their work in elsewhere. And pitchers and fielders and hitters all do things a bit differently and need different experiences. It's not about them being 'perfect' at the start, it's about needing different types of work to get them to opening day. I've been going to ST for a couple of decades now and I have to say, in that time, while the technology is different, and maybe focused a bit differently, games are still pretty much the same thing. A few starters in the beginning, not everyone, lots of minor leaguers and non-roster invitees playing in games. In the last week is when you see the roster coming together and the starters in more games for longer. What's largely different is fan expectation. Whether it's better or worse, it's definitely greater and more impatient. Given the seasons we've had, it's understandable, but ST is still what it always has been.

    That said, 8 teams advance to the quarter finals: Australia, Cuba, USA, Japan, Italy, Venezuela, PR and Mexico … I added a poll :) And will like add another when we are down to the semis, maybe.

    It looked fluky so I hope people don’t act compulsively and pull out. They weren’t excessively celebrating, either, imo, so I hope there aren’t calls to ‘tone it down.’ But … yeah … it looked like a knee thing and maybe a something torn thing. A huge investment indeed. Let’s hope he’s okay and can pitch this season. One of the best relievers in the game, was amazing last night and fun to watch pitch.     I know. Didn’t look like they were out of control celebrating. Probably just came down on it wrong. Hope it’s nothing serious but it would seem doubtful he’ll finish the tournament.
