  1. We’ve heard/read reports from ST that pitching velocity is already high, at season levels and not early ST levels. So, I have a question I don’t have an answer for, and won’t, likely until September, or later into October, but will this be a detriment down the road of seeing tired or injured (knock on wood) arms? Some pitchers have ramped up early because of the WBC, but will it last through the season and into the post season? Or will we see regression? Thoughts?
  2. I was being a bit funny. Have noticed game day sometimes freezes
  3. It ended? Twins were up 6-2, no need to play the bottom of the 9th
  4. As I said, I’d give you the latter, but the other one I don’t think would have been caught, shift or no shift
  5. I was there. That hit in the 4th was hit very well, pretty hard, and was over anyone’s head in the infield. It would not have been caught, imo, from watching the game live. His last hit, maybe. That one was possibly helped by no shift, but the earlier one was a good solid hit
  6. Yep. I expect that early on as it is. By the final week, though, hopefully less so
  7. You also don’t see that as often, esp when a pitcher is using the pick off to give time to a reliever warming up. But, now that the pitchers are limited, will we see the catcher make more throws to first this season?
  8. None of his hits I think were really affected by that, though
  9. I’m not sure that’s why they acquired him. He’s a very good receiver and he is very good at controlling the running game. With larger bases, that is very important.
  10. Tyler Mahle came in to pitch the 4th
  11. A little late but … GALLOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  12. Pablo looking good … 6-3, backwards K (on 3 straight pitches), 3-1
  13. @John Bonnes, doing his thing up there with all the others
  14. Anyone watching? Good times live!
  15. There was much I could agree on with your post but not this part, The depth they acquired this year is WAY better than the depth they had to rely on last year. Solano, Taylor, Gallo and Farmer are hardly cast offs.
  16. I think this was his response to those who complain about 30-60 second video clips. Bring on the sound, John!
  17. I’ve also noticed that there are fewer people at the games … likely because fewer people have travelled to Fort Myers. Seems like tickets should be easy to come by. If you want to chance it, just buy the least expensive tickets and then wander. You should be able to find a seat most anywhere, particularly in the shade. Of course, maybe attendance will go up later into ST.
  18. Oh right … I keep forgetting about that
  19. All was not lost. I bought a new hat.
  20. He walked off the field slowly with assistance. Not sure if it was knee or ankle. Didn’t follow up with sources
  21. He has been a roving batting instructor. I don’t know if that’s still what he’ll be doing or not?
  22. When will the first round of cuts/options happen, anyone know?
