    Jax, Ober and Gant are already scheduled for the next three starts. Saying 'Ryan has pitched better' in one start isn't really saying much. I would love to see Ryan up and it was my 'prediction' he'd be up in the next home stand. However ... Strotman is already on the 40-man and Ryan is scheduled to pitch tomorrow. Don't recall when Strotman last pitched or when scheduled, but my guess he would be the next called up. Then again ... is there someone else on the 40-man that they could call up to pitch one game?

    That's what I was going to add as I went through and read posts. That seems a no brainer. And no way Austin Martin gets a call up in September, no way. Not sure why he would even be on this list. They aren't going to add him to the 40-man when he doesn't need to be added this year. That would be foolish. If he's in AAA next year doing well, maybe he'll get a September call up in 2022.

    I just really can't see him not getting a start or two with the Twins. While I truly don't have a clue when it comes to these decisions, not having him pitch this year in Minneapolis would really baffle me

    I would think injuries being more prevalent might give him an opportunity (meaning someone else goes on the IL), or are you saying they will be more cautious with him because of possible injuries to him? (Was he pitching last year at the Rays' alternate site? I don't recall what has been said about him.) But, with the minor leagues going through September, don't you think he might get a look in the majors?

    The minor league season now goes through September. Unless you think we'll make the playoffs (hahahaha), there won't be a month added to the time he would have spent pitching. I'd like to see him up to get that taste, even if he isn't up the whole time.

    I hardly doubt they don't have a clue. I think this kind of rhetoric is just ridiculous. With all the injuries and illnesses this team has had this year, it's been more juggling of the roster and players than usual. And at this point, they are trying out a lot of the fringe players to evaluate before jettisoning, because that's what you do in a lost season. We have seen a lot of rookies this year, even if not the ones or the many we want. Because it's not always what we like or want to see doesn't mean they don't have a clue. They know better than us, even with the seeming mistakes or actual mistakes they make. But I agree, I haven't a clue what they will do, either.

    Not only did he make it to 6 innings ... but he pitched through errors that cost runs ... and still held his cool. Other pitchers might let that get to them. I was impressed with his overall performance last night, but especially the composure.

    Just a quibble, but not sure the White Sox were discounted, either. I think some writers ranked them 1st in the division prior to the season
