  1. True dat. I don't see his name in the prelim stuff, and that's really disappointing. Maybe they're keeping him with the Saints to chase their HR record, eh? Good grief, I agree, tough RHP on the mound, he needs to be in that lineup! Lee to 3B, Castro to 2B, and swap Lewis and Wallner in St. Paul.
  2. On mlbtv, between Every Single Effing Inning break.
  3. Whew... This is the only chicken I dare have today.
  4. Holy geez, I thought he had launched that one into the Gloamin' for sure.
  5. Is it time to start calling JD's relief outings "Experiences?" 🤔
  6. I've been keeping a eye on DaShawn for at least a coupla years hoping he'd get a real shot. But whoa, he looks completely clueless at the plate. 🫤 Makes me sad.
  7. Crap, I keep turning the sound off for that cloying, insipid mlb green ad, then forget to turn it back on.
  8. It's true, though. It's a terrible tragedy what happened in that storm, but my goodness that was a hateful place to watch ball, and it seemed like 11,000 was a dream for a crowd size for them. The Dome had its quirks, but I can't even imagine playing in that dark, depressing place that was the Trop.
  9. Gee, for a second there, it looked like we had an actual fielder over there at 3rd.
  10. What an amazing coincidence! And what rotten luck-- nearly every night, the Twins run into a pitcher with the first name "Cy!" How often could that happen?!?
  11. Just... just... Lewis. Then Larnach. For God's sake, you guys are supposed to be major leaguers.
  12. Nothin' like that prodigious warning-track power. Craig Kusick, where have you gone?
  13. Sheesh, Castro. Good thing he didn't get Correa clobbered for no reason.
  14. Jeepers, he smoked that one, clean out of that minor-league park.
  15. I watched a youtube doc on Hawk Harrelson the other day. My favorite moments were when the Twinkies would do something to the Sox like Aranda just did, and he'd get so p*ssed off, he'd just go silent for a moment. Wouldn't even announce a homer had been hit. Then, maybe a little, resigned, "Welp..." My sentiments at that moment. Welp.
  16. Geez Louise, tough play, but Royce you gotta be on that.
  17. Having a tough time with old friend "Cy" Littell, and his vintage Radke-esque arsenal.
  18. Truly. This game has potential to go 11 or 12 innings.... Which would mean many more opportunites to hear that godforsaken "Mlb Green" effing song, and that nails-on-chalkboard "Oppo-taco" meme. Mlb hates their fans.
  19. Seriously? Brock hasn't pitched in 5 days, throws to 1 guy and now we burn another pitcher? (Who promptly walks the leadoff guy!) Another Rocco WTF moment...
  20. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the thought very much. Any one of us, at any time, just needs to know we're not alone out there. This little place on the web is a special one. ⚾❤️
  21. I haven't been around the site too much lately, even in the midst of all the good results. To cut to the point, I lost a friend, who lost his battle with depression, and ended his life. He was one of my rugby mates, a Kiwi. Gregarious, charming, the sharpest of wits. He used to write up match reports that would induce a coffee spit take the following Monday morning. But inner struggles never left him. He had a wife and 2 young kids. They moved back to New Zealand a couple of years ago, and we would hear of incidents- cops, medical personnel, and such. He quit drinking. Came back to HK for a visit last year, repping a non-alcohol beer, and seemed his usual boisterous, endearing self. Then came the news last week, and all the regret and sorrow. Broken family left behind, broken mates. This site is not only a gathering place for us long-suffering fans, but it's often a refuge from the turmoils of the world, both public and personal. The preponderance of us are men, and being Upper Midwest as our roots are, many steeped in stoic Scandinavian stock. We're not used to expressing much- well, beyond disappointment in our heroes on the ballfield. This is an appeal, I guess. Please, do keep an eye on your quiet friends. And if you happen to be one of those quiet friends, please don't be shy about reaching out, in any way that's comfortable. There isn't a right or wrong way, there isn't a perfect thing to say. Chat about fishing, the Twins, or just ask how ya doin'. Making a connection, letting someone know you're there, and so are they- any way to feel a little less alone. My heart is in pieces, and tears have been flowing for days on end, at the slightest impulse. Perhaps even the simplest of connections, at the most random of times can make a difference to someone who's battling in silence. My friend "Broomie" - Kowloon Rugby Football Club WWW.FACEBOOK.COM It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Alex “Broomie” Broome. A Loonie legend through and through. His funeral is this Thursday 15th May and will be live streamed:...
  22. Heh... Chourio 4 Ks! I seem to remember Dan Gladden destroying a sombrero (?) the Twinks used to make a guy wear.... 👒
  23. Wow, 7 pitch inning, with an already high pitch count! Guess what, Brewers, you just bought yourselves another cuppa Joe! Maybe 2! 😅
  24. Been short on time lately - just opened a show in addition to the schoolmaster gig. But got a chance to check in here and there-- Jim Palmer, after Ty France had waved a pitch juuuuuust a bit outside: "That one was in Belgium." 😂 And omg, the O's broadcast was still running, and Charlie Morton had stepped up to the mike. What an incredibly honest, heartfelt, painful soliloquy from an aging ballplayer still feeling like he has the tools and the heart, but pouring open his soul trying to figure out why it's all gone wrong. I stopped in my tracks and just watched. It was Charlie Morton's Lear unfolding. Just, wow.
  25. It's 1030 AM over here, and I'm between classes with my middle schoolers. I've been drunk and riled up since 8. 🍸
