    Arrrgh!!! 😭😭😭 I've been trying to forget that night for decades!! *cough* Ron Davis*cough* We were watching the end of that one in the lounge of the restaurant where I worked, after closing, and when that game got blown the way it did, I DESTROYED a chair. That was expensive. 🙄

    Yikes! Just look at that BP pitch chart! We're gonna burn out Jonah Bride at this rate! No Jax lately, and Columbe's line is remarkably efficient; 1 pitch one outing, 2 pitches the other. Why he can't go an inning or even an inning plus with the soft-serve he deals, I cannot fathom. I'm kind of surprised we didn't run out "Tora Tora Topa" today.

    Holy crap! I'm glad that for me those day games start at 2 AM, so I'm absolved from the bleeding. But what a sorry sunrise it was today! The inexorable march to .500 baseball continues. Bailey steps back when he needs to step up, against practically the worst-hitting team this side of the White Sox. The hitters shrink back to Lewis-line levels. And our new acquisition, Joey "The Pennant" Wentz manages to channel Alcala numbers. Welp, at least I don't have to hate-watch the replay, and just keep marking exams... 😝

    I'm sad to see him go- world of talent, but somehow, just couldn't string good outings together. Too many implosions. But hey, now we've got Joey Wentz, so that pretty much wraps up the pennant...

    Great wrap-up! And great work by Festa and the bats. Caught up on the mlbtv after monitoring exams this morning-- 2 notes: 1) I almost always have the oppo broadcast team on, as I'm completely underwhelmed by the Twins crew. But Texas has to be the worst in the league. No more of that. 2) I'm old enough to remember Halsey Hall recapping rundowns: Herb Carneal: "That play goes 1-3-4-1-6-2." Halsey: "And if a man answers, hang up!" 😂

    ** Irony alert: ** Evan Carter, who destroyed the Twins tonight, grew up in Elizabethton, TN, former home of the E-Twins, where so many Twins greats spent their early Minors days! He's probably been to that park many times!

    Heh... scanning around for some background while marking papers- saw the Rockies had a 3-run lead in the 9th! Heh... again... homer, 2 walks, and infield bleeder, and suddenly they're down by 1 ! Sounds awfully familiar! But hey, I wonder if the Rocks had any warm bodies we could trade for Alcala- Colorado closer only throwing about 92, Jorge could get let those runs in a lot quicker at 98!
