    Great read, thanks for posting this! As a kid growing up in the 60s, and suffering through those 69 and 70 playoffs, any Oriole my friends and I got went directly into the spokes of our bikes!

    Heh... Another over-40 baseball tale-- That play reminded me of coaching 1st one time- the batter who'd just reached base was a bass player in a hard rock band, who said he was deaf in one ear from being next to the drummer for years. I told him, "Stay close to the bag, this guy's got a good pickoff move." He turned toward me and said, "What?" Boom. Throw. Tag. Out. 😂

    This pretty much says it all. I remember playing over-40 ball back in LA- there was a team sponsored by an Irish bar, that were a good bunch of players, but more often than not, we'd catch them on the early Sunday AM game. Even hung over as hell, they looked a lot more prepared than the Twinks do every damn time.
