I haven’t been as tuned in to the Twins in recent weeks. 51 RBI next to Lewis’ name really popped out at me. He is 3rd on the Twins in that category in only 55 games. Correa is #1 with 65 RBI in 133 games… Kepler #2 with 60 RBI in 120 games.
I don’t miss guys like Big Mike Pineda huffing and puffing for 50 seconds between every pitch during a game in mid-June.
I don’t miss watching 4 floaters during intentional walks.
I don’t miss Joe West. And I won’t miss Angel Hernandez whenever he hangs it up.
Kirk’s got the no trade clause… And doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who will spontaneously move to NJ. If he did waive his NTC, can we make it “conditional” to get the 2024 1st round pick that Green Bay won’t get trading away Rodgers?
0-2 due to a terrible turnover differential, mental mistakes, and horrid play on both sides of the line. The honeymoon phase is over for KOC and KAM. This is a transition year, not a contending year.
That’s the nuclear option… I wouldn’t do it unless it’s clear he’s not signing an extension here. Admittedly he is my favorite player on the team by far. I just prefer keeping a guy who is breaking every receiving record through “x” number of seasons.
The turnovers on offense are getting comical now. Evidently every team knows how to strip sack Kirk. 0-2 was pretty likely after the unfortunate loss on Sunday. This is going to get really rocky. Will Kwesi change course and trade Kirk/Danielle/O’Niell?
Good point about the wind direction… The cab is pretty cozy too. @ashburyif you want to go ahead and email the weight of your party ahead of time we’ll get you taken care of, no problem!
I also expected this to be a win. The next month is tough sledding and we’ll have to steal a win from the Chargers or Chiefs at home. It’s going to be a rocky start… Who knows what Kwesi pivots to if we end up 1-6 to start the year.
If the NFL had a metric like WPA this specific play would have the largest negative number for Jay Ward. Just inexcusable to do that and give them a free first down.
Definitely wasn’t good today. But I’m not pressing the panic button yet. Tampa was the #1 rush defense by a wide margin last year and brought everyone back.
Last season, the Guardians hammered the final nail in our coffin during the early September series. Feels good to be returning the favor this year. Stay hot, Twins!
I was very skeptical of Lewis in 2019 when he was a sub .700 OPS player in AA. He’s done much better than I expected, but I’m still not ready to crown him a star. The sample size is still too small.
