  1. We will let Rocco know to keep the pitches elevated and find you some catching equipment in the shed!
  2. On second thought, maybe we should put you in the infield so the ball doesn’t gain speed in the OF due to you eating all of the grass!
  3. Good thing they’re going to lead off with a lefty so your splits make sense!
  4. Gray is likely the best FA SP on the market this winter. He’ll finish in 2nd in the Cy Young voting. The dude is gonna get paid much more than we expect.
  5. If the Twins do clinch tonight, and they decide to add Twins Daily members to the 40 man (Who wouldn’t want a prorated MLB pre-arb salary for 8 games) where would people play? I’m putting @wsnydeson the mound and hope his rotator cuff doesn’t explode in 5 pitches. @Squirrel has the quickness for SS. @Richie the Rally Goat would at the very least make sure the grass is manicured in the OF. @USAFChief is the old trusty veteran middle reliever. @stringer bellhow are your knees? Think you can catch a few games?
  6. Let’s get a clinching win tonight!!
  7. Royce Lewis continues to get snake bit with injuries. Really sad news on a day that should be a celebration.
  8. Royce Lewis hits the IL… 😢
  9. The smirk he had on his face when he was flat out asked if the ankle is any better than it was 7-10 days ago and he says “let’s keep it at progress” … Really rubs me the wrong way. His body language screams I’m getting paid regardless so I’m milking this thing for all it’s worth.
  10. Im shocked the official Vikings account shared this interview of Davenport. Just a really bad look. Zero urgency to return to the field.
  11. Local fan and half-drunk bozo Aaron Rylander had this to say…
  12. Man… What happened to Clase this year?
  13. Just posed this question in the other Buxton thread before seeing this one… I’m curious to know if the goal is still the same and we’re going to ramp him up to play OF? Is he coming back solely to try and make the playoff roster as a bench bat? Hopefully more clarity to come from the beat writers…
  14. Buxton went 1-4 with an RBI single and 2 ks as the DH for the Saints tonight. Is this the new goal for him to potentially contribute as a bat only? Will he try playing in the field in the coming days?
  15. Mattison is just a guy… I agree with y’all, he should not be a starter.
  16. Double post. Thanks internet
  17. Akers is literally a salary dump. I don’t know why they won’t give Chandler some run before taking on Akers. Is he really that bad in pass protection? That seems to be the equalizer for RBs.
  18. Now Wainwright can breathe a sigh of relief for accomplishing his goal of 200 wins. He’s had a really tough season and I’m sure at times this summer he wondered if he made the right choice coming back for 2023.
  19. How often do you think about the Roman Empire?
  20. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/details-from-rays-stadium-announcement.html This doesn’t sound like a great fix long term for the team. If the location was the issue and getting to that location, it’s going to be close to the same spot as Tropicana Field… The stadium itself will cost $1.3 billion but is part of a larger redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District site, where Tropicana Field is already located, which will cost $6.5 billion overall. Despite the announcement, the financing hasn’t quite been finalized just yet. The Rays are covering more than half of the $1.3 billion price tag for the stadium, approximately $700MM. That leaves $600MM to be covered by the city of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County. That structure has been agreed to by the Rays, St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch and Pinellas County administrator Barry Burton, but it still needs to be approved by the city council and the county commission. Assuming that comes to pass and everything gets rubber stamped, the Rays will sign a 30-year lease that starts with the 2028 season. The stadium will seat around 30,000 under a fixed roof, with artificial turf on the field and “operable walls to bring the outside in.”
  21. Maybe one of the Ohio teams becomes another relocation opportunity. Cincinnati has a cool ballpark and exciting young players. I don’t get it.
  22. When the Twins aren’t on TV, I highly recommend watching The Saint of Second Chances on Netflix! All about the St Paul Saints and the wackiness of owner Mike Veeck.
  23. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/38430468/report-rays-complete-deal-new-stadium-st-petersburg https://x.com/tbtimes_rays/status/1703741614324134301?s=46&t=YdnB8yC6KsAGCRK6WIUWqg
  24. Green Bay is being extremely cautious with Jordan Love. He’s basically getting the Ponder kid gloves treatment right now. He hasn’t faced a legitimate pass rush yet and we will see if he crumbles when he does. Chicago I’m becoming convinced their coaching is no good. Fields doesn’t appear to be the answer at QB and they’ll be back to square 1 picking a QB and likely a new coaching staff.
  25. It’s a different beast winning games when there are expectations to win. They went on their winning streak last year after they started 1-7 or something close to that.
