    Maybe the new excellence is just doing enough to make the season exciting to have a .500 record. That is excellence at its finest.

    Great post. Twins are doing what Twins do best and that is nothing. The team isnt improving and will have a losing record again next year because of it.

    I just dont think comparing Sano who is an overweight blob to Joe Mauer who can actually produce on the field and off the field. Couldnt you throw in everyone who has been injured? Buxton, Castro, Morneau, ect. Many have always said our conditioning program has been terrible.

    People keep mentioning "core group" what core group? Mauer Dozier, Esky and a constant switch at 3rd. There is no core group there is simply a FO who is going into different directions with from what it looks like no real solid plan unless they are counting on Lewis, Sano, and Buxton to be our saviors which I am tired of them having no backup plan.

    This does nothing to excite me and it is on par with the Twins and how they have been for the last forever seasons regarding FA. They have not helped our pitching at all and continue to put band aids on a damn that has been leaking for sometime.

    Terrible signing and proving once again this is the same old Twins that we are used too. Absolutely no changes to the pitching or bullpen staff.

    I would like this signing only if Bryant could play 2nd or ss. We need a stronger middle infield IMO.

    We got crushed by the Bills and took on a team that has won one game all season. Let's not buy those super bowl tickets yet.

    Forgive my ignorance let me get this straight a 10-5 guy can veto any trade regardless of how many times it is brought up and with however many teams?

    Two things about this: It really should not come as any surprise since Falvey wanted this to be his team. The writing was on the wall and there is no way they promote within the organization. We have seen this fail a number of times. Bring in some new blood make some trades and compete for once for a ring.

    IMO the only thing wrong with the contract was the no trade clause.

    I think people just need to give the FO a little more time. This offseason will really gauge what they can accomplish.

    No they won't be .500, they cant win against good teams.

    I always liked Austin and believe some of the reason he didnt have a great start in the majors was simply because he played for the Yankees. We have seen a number of players fold under the pressure of playing for them.

    Those games will show how far off the Twins are from having a decent team. The fan base continues to mention that if we didnt dump of so many players we would be in the thick of things which is far from the truth.

    The Dozier trade is looking better and better. He went 0 for 4 again tonight.

    I called this. The Twins brought him up too early and it shows. Gonsalves should of been the one to try out. He was having a much better year than Stewart.

    I mentioned this at the end of his last start that he wasn't ready and was mocked for it. His control still needs a lot of help and he shouldn't pitch again until he figures it out.

    One of my biggest pet peeves is the Mauer bashing. It wasn't his fault the Twins offered him the contract. 6 time All Star, 3 Gold Gloves, 1 MVP and 5 silver slugger awards. It is not all about homeruns.

    Is it almost safe to say that the Dozier trade has benefitted the Twins and that Sano has figured it out?
