  1. Lots of holes to fill with this team, but I think the most important would be 2 decent starters to take the pressure off of the bullpen.
  2. The Twins do not have someone who can teach our young guys to hit. Keeping Buxton is a waste of time since he probably wont come around due to what has happened to the other younger talent that used to be in this team. Long story short, your statement is not valid and they should trade Buxton before it is to late.
  3. How long do we keep saying this? I know a bunch of you just love his defense, but that is all he has is his defense. Yup he is young but the problem with that is he is hitting in AAA and just cant hit major league pitching. Bring someone else on that can hit and field.
  4. All Buxton has right now is his defense, if he starts to fail in that department he is toast.
  5. Are you kidding me? Why so many puff pieces on this guy? He cant bat. Havent we squeezed enough out of this turnip? Trade him.
  6. It is not just about pitching on why this team is very lucky to be where they are. Our batting ranks 15th in average and we have no one who is batting above .300. With an overall team ERA that ranks 23rd in the league this team is just not that good and like some have mention they have been lucky. You will see a steep drop off regardless if you keep Santana or Dozier. Which is why you trade them now in the hopes of getting some decent prospects.
  7. Right now? That has been his deal since he has entered the majors.
  8. Blown saves happen. Not the end of the world, but what usually does not happen is when you are almost midway through June and you are still letting a guy who is hitting .198 continue to stay in the game. The experiment is over and it is hurting the team. Trade Buxton.
  9. Good win, but the bullpen still gave up 3 runs. This has not stopped the bleeding yet. Mauer has having a stellar 2 weeks. I would love to see him hit for .300 average this year.
  10. Top 5 intro I have read so far, awesome job.
  11. I would not call him an ace just yet. He got bailed out a number of times due to stellar defense.
  12. Didnt think they had it in them. Good win tonight. My only question is why did they pull Mejia(butchered I know) so quickly? His pitch count wasnt bad.
  13. Man, would be so nice if Sano sent this into orbit.
  14. Saw the comeback coming the entire time! Okay, not really. Please dont blow this now, please please please pull this off.
  15. Nice thing is that we went almost 2 months hovering around 1st place. Was a good run.
  16. Well it was a good game until we had to go to the bullpen. Game over.
  17. One of Pressely's problems was his inability to hit the outside corners He was constantly tossing in the middle of the plate. Even when the pitch was suppose to be tossed to the inside or outside.
  18. I am usually pretty negative, but because they are actually pulling the trigger and trying to plug the holes of this sinking ship. The season is still early and I am hoping they at least can pull one strong reliever from AAA and pick up another one via a trade.
  19. The Twins team is finally coming back to earth. Hopefully fans and ownership will realize how much this team needs high level pitchers who can win against above average teams.
  20. I enjoy watching the Twins, I just get frustrated with the blind praise they get from people who believe that it is an easy fix. We have struggled with pitching for a long time and the management continues to do nothing except for picking up pitchers like Wilk. I would understand if they were still in the dome but they are not. They had a brand new stadium build with the promise of spending more to field a better team and that has not happend. I am tired of the same outcome every year and I am tired of people simply saying we are in a rebuilding phase. Our minor league team is so depleted that all we have is average players and the management believes we can build around that? It is time for the Twins to either rebuild by making trades for prospects or just have this season go down the drain again because of pitching. This team will not go anywhere unless somethings are changed and not simply by having a bandaid placed on it.
  21. The arguement continues to revolve around what we have in AAA and I am afraid to tell you we really do not have anything that stands out. This discussion was brought up before about 3 months ago regarding how our minor league system is crap. I am a realist and refuse to be blinded by unrealistic hope regarding this team. The only and I mean the only thing this team can do to improve this team is trade away some veterans to get some prospects. Get rid of Dozier, Santana while he is still pitching well, and Vargas. We have to many holes that fans believe can simply be plugged by bringing medicore pitchers up from the minors.
  22. Nater makes a great point, this team continues to believe it can simply over work their bullpen year after year and year after year we see this team implode badly.
  23. You can almost hear the Twins train derailing. You can not argue with statistics or a terrible manager. A bunch of us have consistantly mentioned how Molitor is out of his league. If they keep everything the same we will be getting crushed in June and July.
