    Buxton might deserve to start over Stanton but Yordan Alvarez blows them both away so that whole argument is pointless. Also love how baseball stat geeks spend hours telling me how batting average is an outdated stat until it's the main selling point for one of ours. I'll take lil' Vlad six ways to Sunday. Both are deserving of reserve spots although, as much as I love Buxton as a player, I can name at least a half a dozen guys more deserving based solely on his games played or lack thereof.

    What you seem to be saying is that Berrios' team wins more games because they are a better team. Hard to be the better team when you best players are playing for the other guys. Bottom line is that as this point in time we have gotten NOTHING in return for Berrios. Can't call that a win. In the future. Maybe. Maybe not. That's probably why they'll continue to play the games.

    One of these pitcher's team is 6-8 in games he starts and the other is 11-5. I'll take the guy whose team is 11-5 in games he starts and let you figure out which is which.

    Everyone thinks we need to go out and get a pitcher. The chances of getting one better than Berrios are minimal.

    Great idea until you get past the deadline and realize you still need a bat just as much as relief help.

    He's a veteran pitcher who has shown in the past and most likely will show again in the future what he's made of. We need pitching and he's a pitcher who can be very good. Makes plenty of sense to complain about not having him.

    I actually don't think it had anything to do with Johnson's departure. Staff ERA since Johnson's departure is 2.19. I don't think that has anything to do with Johnson's departure either.

    C'mon. We're not really blaming whether Gray was sharp or not sharp today on who the pitching coach was. Are we? We're smarter than that. He's a grown man.

    Better than what? Eleven months in and neither has advanced beyond the milb level they were at when the deal went down. Convince me when actual empirical evidence exists.

    Yeah, no more than two of the four guys you mentioned and a couple lower level prospects. STARTING the conversation at those four guys isn't a GOD father offer it's a GRAND father offer, as in YOU KIDS GET OFF MY GRASS!!!

    His value might be as the starting SS next year until Lewis is ready to go.

    And the employee does not get paid if they quit. No more shady for the employee to quit than for the employer to fire.

    Same way the Twins could choose to fire him (or any other staff member) before the end of the regular season. Might be different if he were leaving for another big league club, unless a promotion were involved.

    I'm usually more in favor of not moving guys than in bringing the same guys back but would not be averse to this move.
