  1. The word you're looking for is heart. Can't measure it but you can sure tell when it's not there. Been harping on this since Eddie Rosario left. Got worse when Nelly Cruz followed him out the door. I know. There's going to be a whole bunch of folks are gonna jump on this thread and tell me that Eddie's got a .552 OPS and that he's a terrible defensive outfielder. I don't care. He's got a ring and we've trotted a dozen guys who don't have one out to LF since he left.
  2. I'd feel better about the trajectory of our system if we weren't two years into the Kirillof / Larnach experience and they had more than 800 combined plate appearances at the big league level.
  3. Like I said, he has heart. Something this team seemingly places little value on. Likely gone.
  4. And yet he has more World Series rings than we have playoff wins in two decades.
  5. Complaining we didn't keep a guy who played with heart. Get used to it. Correa and Urshela are the only guys on this year's team that do and will probably both be gone next year too.
  6. I'm focusing on heart. You know, that thing that can't be measured but is sorely missing on this squad. And actually, your guy Gio might be the one that actually does have it. Probably why he'll likely be elsewhere next year.
  7. Interesting that Eddie Rosario's in Atlanta and Nick Gordon is the only one of the dozen left fielders we've used since he left that's on your list.
  8. The only way one of these guys ends up here is if Correa agrees to something in the 5 year $180 to $210 million range. VERY unlikely.
  9. Those stats are from a very small sample size and Kiriloff can't stay healthy. Not to mention one of the other two will probably regress a bit.
  10. On the one hand everyone commenting on here is willing to let Sano walk and on the other hand our lack of hitting is what has pushed to two games down in the standings...
  11. Every damn time I hear this team described as lifeless and lacking heart the words "eddie rosario" come to mind.
  12. Sano will contribute in the post-season. Laugh. I don't care. Baseball's a funny game. Stuff happens every October that nobody saw coming. You heard it hear first.

    75 RBI or 75 RBIs?

On this Twins team, this year, 75 is a number that may not matter. Let's try this again and use the number 71.
  14. Sano will contribute in the post-season. Laugh. I don't care. Baseball's a funny game. Stuff happens every October that nobody saw coming. You heard it hear first.
  15. Surprised he found a Buxton jersey that fit.
  16. I know draft position doesn't count for as much in baseball as in football and basketball but it's gotta count for something. From 2012 to 2015 we drafted 2, 4, 5 & 6. We've got Buxton & Gordon to show for that and it took Gordon 7 years to reach the big leagues. The only thing the current regime has to show for their first round picks are 136 games of an injured Larnach with 12 home runs and a .226 batting average and Sonny Gray. They have developed some pitching but nothing of a high end nature. Disappointing to say the least.
  17. Farm system rankings are very subjective. I've seen our ranked in the middle and I've seen it ranked top 10.
  18. Maybe the 71 Orioles. But nobody after the first four starters won more than six games.
  19. Would not be the least bit surprised to see him back and contributing in the post-season. Baseball's a funny game sometimes. Sometimes you've to expect the unexpected.
  20. Perfectly willing to see the ''real" Correa show up in October.
  21. OR he could be just another guy who won't hit at the big league level.
  22. Actually I'd say the prospect pool is fairly similar now to what it was then. The difference has been the performance of the major league team--at least until the playoffs. Of course I would be remiss to fail to mention that a good portion of the on field performance of the big league club can be attributed to folks brought on board by the previous regime. Just sayin. What will truly be interesting going forward is what impact changes to the draft and minor league systems will have on prospect pools of the various teams.
  23. UNLESS nobody gives him the mega deal. You know. Like last time..
  24. One thing we don't do around these parts is factor in leadership and attitude. That's why a certain purple team whose TEs on this year's roster had a combined 9 NFL catches last year sat on it's hands while a guy with the 12th most TD catches by a TE in the history of the league and a great reputation as a leader signed with another team. That's why the same team saw a handful of it's un-vaccinated "leaders" miss time with Covid last year. Same team will see another one of it's leaders on the other side of the line of scrimmage when the Cowboys come to town in November. That team will probably stumble to another rudderless 8 win this year. I know, I digress from the team at hand. However, I've seen the team at hand play with a lack of heart this year and last while a certain Eddie (and Ehire) won a World Series in Atlanta last year. The stuff you can't measure matters. Somebody should tell the decision makers around here.
