  1. All fine and dandy but if the team wants one of them in CF I'm willing to bet it ends up happening. Besides, I fairly certain most fans on this site would be highly upset if Kepler played were in a position which impeded his departure.
  2. Which might also allow the starters to (continue to) pitch a little deeper into games and take some pressure off the bullpen.
  3. Not quite sure where this "Kepler & Lewis refuse to play CF" noise is coming from. I've heard no such thing. I'm sure we might be able to guess that Lewis might be a bit gun shy about playing there since he got hurt there last year but I've not heard on thing about him "refusing" to play there. Same with Kepler. I've never heard anything about either one not being willing to do whatever they might be asked to do. If I'm missing something I'd love know what it is. Other than random fans talking S$@#!
  4. The pendulum between the two could easily swing as much in the Miranda's direction over the next year as it has in Steer's over the past year. Steer will also face a similar in house obstacle to what Miranda has faced in that four of the Reds top seven prospects (if you consider Elly De La Cruz to be graduated off the prospect list) have a 3B next to their names.
  5. I suppose that would at least get him under a half dozen.
  6. SHOULD be MLB ready by now and yet by all accounts are NOT.
  7. Hopefully SWR's 6.79 plays better at the big league level than in the International League.
  8. Trading Berrios precipitated the need for the Mahle trade, which precipitated the need for the Pablo Lopez trade.
  9. They haven't won it yet and if you haven't won, you've lost.
  10. "Easily replaceable" players would have been gone long ago.
  11. Nick Senzel might be a name to watch. Can play 3B or any of the outfield spots, including CF adequately and hits the snot out of left handed pitching, something which I've heard a time or two (thousand) on this very website is a need for this team. Price might not be prohibitive since he's not a pitcher. Might be a great year for the Twins to zig (seek bats) when everyone else zags (seeks arms).
  12. Call me crazy but I like to keep track of HIT rate.
  13. Might be a fine addition to our plethora of ultra talented superstar type left fielders.
  14. The day I'd rather see Vasquez at the plate than Buxton, in any situation, is the day I turn in my fan card.
  15. tough to prove it on the mound when you only pitch 32 innings and only accumulate 12 saves. Cano has more innings pitched, a better ERA and a better WAR. Part of the reason Jansen gets in is because he has more saves.
  16. I said all off season that they basically did nothing to improve the offense. Correa was here last year so that's a wash. Vasquez' only redeeming quality is that he's not Omar Narvaez. Gallo? Please! Don't try to justify a guy whose batting average is below the Mendoza line. Farmer? I know it wasn't an actual trade but he basically replaced Gio Urshella. It was NOT a clear win. Solano? C'mon. Quit lying to yourself. Makes you look as stupid as when you were gushing about guys like Jake Cave & Kyle Garlick. At the end of the day, they took a team that scored fewer than 700 runs last year and turned it into a team that will almost certainly score fewer than 700 runs this year with better pitching. ONE team wins the World Series each year. The other 29 had better be entertaining. This one is not.
  17. And we're not lining up Hall of Famers (or All Stars) to replace him. Take a look at our last few season with and without him in the lineup.
  18. A pitcher can't be the heartbeat but if we hadn't made that trade we'd be screaming for a similar pitcher now.
  19. Twins haven't had a "heartbeat" since Rosario, Cruz & Sano left town.
  20. I CAN'T DIDN'T YOU READ WHAT I WROTE? BASICALLY ALL THE WORST PARTS OF THE BIBLE. DOGS & CATS LIVING TOGETHER. A HOLOCAUST OF MANKIND. WE MAY INSTANTLY BECOME BLOOD & FLAMES. GOD HAS GIVEN US MANY MORE REASONS TO KILL EACH OTHER THAN TO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. IF A NEW STRUCTURE IS TO RISE IT MUST BE BUILT FROM THE BOTTOM NOT ON TOP OF WHAT HAS COME BEFORE. THE POETS WILL REST, THE SONNETS WILL BE SILENT, WORDS OF LOVE WILL NOT BE SPOKEN. A STORM SHALL ROLL OVER US AND TAKE THOSE THAT ARE NOT PREPARED. THE TOILET IS FULL. DEATH RIDING A PALE HORSE. SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-SIX MORTICIANS. THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF. HELP ME. SCREAM FROM THE ROOFTOPS.
