  1. I understand the frustration. But this is good news. Hopefully, Buxton can be a contributor in the field in the playoffs. Now, DH him and work on his defense in practice.
  2. This is a trick question, because the Twins could rest CC for the rest of “The season” in order to have him in the.best possible condition for the post-season. This could apply as well to Buxton and Lewis.
  3. How about My Pillow, just for the fun of seeing some here get apoplectic!!!!
  4. You say it’s “Do or Die” for Larnach next year. Looks like he’s already “Doing”.
  5. DH and off-days if the trainer thinks that will help limit the foot pain. Seems obvious to me (which means I’m probably wrong).
  6. We have seen the Twins drop playoff game after playoff game. The number one priority should be to have the best possible roster of players on the first day. A rested Carlos Correa is better than one with achy feet. That is the obvious one. The season is winding down with the team up 7 over Cleveland. A first round bye is not very realistic. Start NOW getting this roster ready to play at the highest possible level.
  7. Griffen Jax looks like someone who could benefit from a lower workload prior to the playoffs!!!!
  8. As the team starts to get ready for the playoffs, there are some players in need of rest (or limited playing time). Number One on the list should be Carlos Correa. His feet have been aching all season and hopefully the condition can improve with less playing. Maybe some of you have others you think would benefit from d as one R & R!
  9. He looks like a future (sooner than later) clubhouse leader - Kirby Puckett, Derek Jeter, Dustin Pedroia …
  10. Playing Farmer now gives Correa a chance (hopefully) to rest his aching foot before the playoffs. Donnie Barrels is top pinch hitting bat off of the bench on a healthy Twins playoff team.
  11. For the waning number of fans complaining about the “Cheap Pohlads”, the Miami Marlins perspective is that the Twins spend much more on payroll. Therefore, the Twins were able to resign Pablo Lopez (where Miami would not).
  12. Just about every team has one or two players like this - a professional losing prospect who has become and enigma. They also have scouts and there could be one scout (or more) who thinks Larnach can slay his off-speed demons (a a bad smy other issues) with just a few adjustments. In the off-season, the Twins need to find another team’s enigma, who we think can benefit from a few adjustments Via trade, give Larnach and that other player the proverbial “change of scenery.”
  13. Since I started this - Yes, I being presumptuous when I go beyond Lopez, Gray and Ryan in the first series. If - and I say IF, the Twins get to the ALDSand beyond, I don’t think they should go beyond a four man rotation. At this point, I would give the nod to a Keuchel followed by Maeda. Hopefully, Bailey Ober can return to good form, but it should be obvious before putting him into a starting role again (ahead of Keuchel and Maeda).
  14. You left out Nick Gordon, who must have an outside chance. Looks like he is getting close to being able to contribute.
  15. Maybe this iOS too obvious a topic. BUT -Somebody has to start this - it pops up in other threads - it needs its own!!! The Twins should go with a four man rotation in the playoffs. The first three are easy: Lopez then Gray then Ryan. Then the tough choice would be Keuchel with Maeda in the pen. Ober and Varland are question marks as to whether they make the playoff roster (and almost certainly in the bullpen if they do). Who actually goes where should depend on the matchups, injuries and how the particular pitchers have performed over the last 2-3 weeks of the season. If an opposing team has trouble with left handers, Keuchel should certainly start as #4 (if performing adequately) over Maeda - and at this point Keuchel seems to deserve the start regardless of those analytics.
  16. Dallas Keuchel induces ground balls. Is there anyone better.to be a reliever when the Twins need a double play (one out with one, two, or three on base)? Just sayin’.
  17. Luis Arraez’s current batting average is .356 That is the best in baseball. His OPS, however, is a very good (but not in top ten) .855. He does not hit for power (6 home runs) and has below average defense. The Twins have an abundance of middle infielders and left-handed hitters. The Twins made a good trade when they landed Pablo Lopez.
  18. In the off-season, a logjam at 2nd Base will become even more apparent. Polanco, Julien, Martin, Lee …. At least one should be traded to bolster the minor league pitching pipeline. The Twins have an abundance of left-handed hitters. The lefty Julien has a valuable bat (despite the recent drop in production). He is the one I would most likely trade in the off-season.
  19. Fortunately, many “fans” were able to beat the traffic before that true WALK-off win. Didn’t see that much traffic on the way home anyways. I’m back there tomorrow and again on Wednesday. Twins on overkill for me this week!!!
  20. The top bullpen guys still have to be Duran and Jax. One of the starters will bolster the pen in the playoffs. Don’t get too worked up yet.
  21. I miss the game threads because DVR and start watching late (in order to skip the commercials). THIS YEAR: Correa deserves a spot in the line up because of his glove not because of his bat. Move him down and boost the players who are hitting better and walking more. Pretty simple.
  22. Of course, Correa blasts a HR just after I posted this. Maybe I can turn him into another Kepler or Pagan.
  23. Why? Why? Why? Lewis, Jeffers, Wallner …. Enough of the season has passed. It’s time to move Carlos DOWN!!!
  24. I’m married to a Hoosier. I don’t have answers. But leaving early guarantees that you will miss the most exciting games. It would be great if you could stay overnight and then catch our great State Adair the next day before taking that shorter ride to Union Station in St Paul. I do understand you have to catch a train.
  25. Back in the day, AWA All-Star Wrestling was sponsored in part by Polka Records. The Twins should bring back this tradition. Reunite Whoopie John.
