  1. No need for either of them, I am confident in Correa playing 140-145 games, Lee can cover the other 15-20 games.
  2. TD on a roll today, Julien provides a potent left-handed bat. That potent bat doesn't leave his shoulder....
  3. If Emma and Keaschel are tearing up AAA on May 15 and can't get called up because Bader is on the roster that is roster mismanagement. And nothing builds a player's confidence more than telling him he can't and probably never will hit same sided pitching and signing a guy to take those PAs (Larnach & Wallner). Having said both those things, I don't mind the signing, but in terms of player development and future roster construction, it was probably unnecessary.
  4. Sorry dreamers.... https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/pete-alonso-re-signs-with-mets-all-star-slugger-agrees-to-two-year-54-million-deal-per-report/
  5. Signing a left-handed RP and a right-handed OF check a couple boxes, but also leads me to believe the team might be close to acquiring Cease. The team needs to open up 2 spots on the 40-man, and some sort of 3 for Cease and a minor leaguer(?) could be close and would fill the 40-man without trying to sneak somebody through waivers. I think it is depending on MN being able to SD off of Ryan/Ober and onto one of Zebby/SWR/Festa (hoping not Festa).
  6. Didn't think politics was allowed - even if satirical....
  7. Concerning 100 runs scored and 100 RBI, last season the Twins lead-off spot scored 102 runs, the number 2 spot scored 99 runs, and the number 3 spot scored 98 runs; no other spot in the line-up scored more than 79 runs. The number 2 spot had 101 RBI and the number 3 spot had 99 RBI; no other spot in the line-up had more than 84 RBI. Expecting one player on this team, given this manager's propensity to platoon and adjust the line-up based on pitcher handedness, to have either is a pipe dream. And yes, I do realize that injuries may have stopped some players from coming close to one or the other (Correa was actually on pace to do both).
  8. Gotta love a coaching staff that can make in-game adjustments....
  9. Never get ahead of those missed 2-pt tries....kick the XP each time and its 24-21...
  10. And a Kelce flop for a penalty...
  11. Needed to kick the XP there, I don't care what the spreadsheet says 😉
  12. Arraez was on pace (162 games) to score 108 runs, drive in 25 runs and have 201 hits with a slash line of .299/.347/.372 (.719 OPS) for the Marlins, only one Marlin batter had more than 70 RBI. He was on pace (162 games) to score 88 runs, drive in 41 runs and have 220 hits with a slash line of .318/.346/.398 (.744 OPS) for the Padres, batting in front of Tatis, Profar, Machado, Merrill, Bogaerts and Croenenworth, 4 of whom had 83 or more RBI (Tatis was on pace for 78 RBI, Bogaerts 65). HIs Marlins start was not slow. The Padres had better hitters behind him. He was going to score more runs for Miami. He was 4th in MLB AVG, 28th in MLB OBP, 100th in MLB SLG, and 77th in MLB OPS. He was -13 OAA defensively at 1B and 2B. His whole game revolves around his AVG. When that starts to fail he will be out of MLB.

  14. Have ticket to the Sunday game, but the job I will be working that allowed for this trip has been shortened by a week, so we'll see if I am still able to make it...
  15. Putting the team's needs first... https://www.mlb.com/news/jose-altuve-willing-to-move-to-left-field

  17. A stat line of .188/.250/.259 (.509 OPS) 28/6 K/BB 1 HR 4 RBI from Aug 16 to the end of the season begs to differ...
  18. There were 28 MLB SP that threw at least 130 IP and averaged 95 MPH on their 4 seamer, less than 1 per team. Lopez averaged 95.1, Ryan 94, and Ober 91.7. SWR averaged 93. I don't think anybody on here expects him to be more than a mid-rotation SP, but a 5 man rotation made up of all #2 and #3 starters should do alright.
  19. And waiting on the numbers for Kirby Yates contract...
