    At this moment, Vazquez is worth more on the roster than the return he brings in a trade. Jeffers has not proven he can catch 2 of every 3 games without tiring/breaking down, and with Camargo or Cartaya as the back-up catcher, that's what he would have to do.

    Concerning the TJ injury, Atteberry and Gladden stated that Keaschal is working with the teams pitching coaches and medical staff to get a consistent arm slot and acquire better throwing habits. Rehabbing a "pitchers" injury as a pitcher would can't be a bad thing, right?

    Canterino pitched in a game for the first time since 2022, that in itself is a big story. Mixed results for sure, but let's see how he pitches going forward before we judge.

    Castro ranked 6th on the team in PAs as an OF with 202 (behind Martin (208), ahead of Wallner (196)!!). Castro ranked 1st on the team in overall PAs with 635. Castro ranked 1st on the team as IF outside 1B (433), but PAs were spread across 3 positions, 5 counting PH (4) and P (1). These break down as 145 at 2B, behind only Julien (279), 224 at SS, behind only Correa (361), and 59 at 3B, behind Miranda (292) and Lewis (59). These numbers show that he is exactly the definition of a utility player and why I have no problem if the team pencils him everyday at 2B until May 1 with a couple days of subbing in for Correa, allowing Bader to spell Larnach and/or Buxton as needed, until one of Lee, Keaschel or Julien is ready.

    Castro is valuable right now because the team can pencil him at 2B everyday in March and April. Come May 1, whichever of Lee, Keuschel, or Julien is having the better season at AAA should be called up and inserted at 2B. If the team deems Castro a better SS/COF option than Martin (spring training will be the real tell, not TD opinions in February) than Martin can fill in at 2B with Castro relieving whoever needs the day off (he can play SS for one game with the fly-ball heavy Twins rotation). While a game or two of Castro at 1B is ok, placing him there everyday is a waste of his versatility. However, he should not play more than 120-125 games, barring injury.
