  1. Lee was injured to start the season and has 282 PA at AAA, he was rushed due to the injuries and ineffectiveness - who else is getting called up when Correa, Lewis, Miranda, Julien, Farmer, et al are injured and/or not performing, Keaschal was also injured/not available. Maybe an injury free off-season will allow him to work on things.
  2. Like him or hate him, on the radio Gladden stated that with the infield back, as it was, the third base coach is supposed to let the runner know to wait for ball to get past the pitcher before breaking for home. This is how the team has always done it (it's also how I learned and how I coached it). No "contact play" when the IF is playing back (conceding the run). So who failed to do their job, Watkins or Martin? Probably both.
  3. Things a major league baseball player should know how to do: Catch the ball (Jeffers), run the bases (Martin out at HP on a comebacker, Santana doubled-off 2B on a bunt attempt), bunt a baseball (Jeffers), hit a fly ball when needed (Lewis in the 11th, also swung at 2 pitches badly out of the zone in this PA); things learned in Little League. This was just last night. This also does not touch on a whole season of sending/holding runners at 3B (Watkins), leaving pitchers in too long/removing them too early (Baldelli) or basically not having a feel for how the game is going that night/day. This team is fundamentally poor in all facets of the game (not just relying on the three true outcomes). 3 run HR's might get you Manager of the Year one year, but you actually have to manage (and your team has to execute) when you don't get them. (By the way Baldelli's Twins are 356-349 since the Bomba season of 2019)
  4. '09 Twins calling current team a bunch of p**sies, except for the '09 player in the broadcast booth....
  5. E-2....fitting end to the season....

  7. Seattle has the day off, unfortunately, but a Twins win gives them a full game lead over that team out West. They will know how half the division did before first pitch tonight, not that they should need ANY type of motivation to keep getting W's...
  8. Looking at Baseball Reference the Twins estimated payroll for 2025 is $175.5 MM if no options are exercised, $193.2 MM if all options are exercised. FanGraphs does not have a payroll estimator for 2025. I'm thinking all roster options for next season are already in the Twins system, be it MLB or MiLB. Going to be a lot of upset TD posters this off-season...
  9. Couldn't tell by watching him run recently...
  10. That 1, 2, 3 inning hurt me a lot....
  11. I don't think he's run 27.5 ft/sec in quite awhile...
  12. Well, he scored a run on a throwing error...
  13. Even the good gets tempered with a bit of the bad....
  14. Agreed. Season on the line and Buxton his playing his best...
  15. Margot is now 2-24 in the month of September, with 2 BB's, a .154 OBP. That is reason enough to not bat him lead-off. Castro or even Farmer would have been a better choice.
  16. 1-9 with RISP. 10 LOB. Is this a team we want in the big dance....
  17. @RpR "Everybody funny, now you funny too..."
  18. The big 3 are trying to carry the team; 3-5, 1 run scored, 1 RBI....

  20. Castro/Martin when Buxton needs a day off. One of Emma or Kiersey if Buxton's on the IL as neither Castro/Martin nor the team can handle extended time out there when/if he's on the IL.
  21. I will take the current version of Buxton over what the farm system and FA has to offer this off-season. This subject can be approached again when one of Emma or Jenkins is ready.
  22. Lewis, much like Buxton last year, has a lower body injury (injuries?) that does not allow him to use his legs and hips to generate power. He is guessing first pitch fastball and swinging (flailing) at it, mostly coming up empty because teams are throwing him first-pitch sliders, sweepers and cutters low and away. Until he can heal over the off-season, this is what he is.
