    Just saw Twins starting lineup......... better hope Berrios shuts them out and they can somehow scrape out a run or two. If this was a spring training game, the Twins would be fined for bringing so few starters!

    The Giant’s organization is not stupid. As a rebuilding organization, they will try to maximize all of their non essential assets. And all the contenting teams know this. I think they will say, “ these guys are on the block, give me your best offer and realize we are also talking to 8(?) other teams.” Why would they not do this? If the Twins were interested in either or both of these guys, I would first try to extend them (can this be done), then make them an offer of xxxxx players, and say you have 3 days to respond. It will not get any better. By striking first, it would prevent the rich teams from coming in just before the deadline, and swallowing them up.

    Just jumping into this thread, but........... seriously? The Twins have no one other than Jack Morris to do the color on these games? I’ve heard him call the Twins the Tigers at least 3 times! He is irritating to listen to. I know your wife just had a baby, Justin Morneau, but get your butt back here!!

    I think the Twins are a better team without Sano right now. I’d love for them to put Arrenz at 3rd to get a persistent hitter that gets on base consistently, granted without the HR’s. Sano is a HR or bust guy who will always be a .220 hitter.

    Crapping time for Buxton to miss with respect to missing Boston’s two lefties today and tomorrow. Gotta feel bad for this kid-seems like an injury crops up every year just when he seems to figure things out.

    Seth- What’s up with Kirilloff? All other IL guys have reason next on the listing, but not Alex. Is there some reason why this hasn’t been disclosed?

    I’d bring up Smeltzer and use him as a lefty out of the pen. Can’t be any worse than we have. FOR A START.

    Rocco trying to prove a point that they have no relief, other than Rogers, and when he is hurt, forget it. How many pitches did May throw the last 2 nights-50?

    When was the last time you remember Sano hitting a line-drive? He doesn’t! He either walks, K’s, homers, or hits 2000 foot popups! I hate to say it, but in a critical situation with the game on the line- Adrianza will give me a better AB than Sano-every time.

    Exactly what’s the difference between 2 dinks and 2 line-drives? May was lucky. There is a big difference in bringing in a quality closer, and someone who has no idea of the strike zone. I think Rocco was trying some type of weird mind meld with the relievers. He was willing to lose a game to make a point. He lucked out tonight. I guess that’s why they pay him the big bucks. Sorry, I was not impressed.

    It’s always better to be lucky than......... actually, these guys are good, too! Something must be wrong with Rogers, unless Rocco was trying to make some kind of point. He was willing to sacrifice the game by staying with May and no one else backing him up, and he won-this time.

    I have a request for Seth. Because of your excellent writing ability, knowledge of basically Every player in the system, and a terrific relationship with management at all levels, cease and desist answering all future questions about injuries basically saying no comment or something to the fact that the injury is not to be revealed!!! Seth- for 5 years you have trained legions of Twins fans to not only follow players at the big club, but also get involved with the next group(s) we will be paying our attention to. But if it’s a stud player-Lewis,Kirilloff, or Graterol-information concerting these great players must be keep from us rabid TD readers. I’d bet a dime to a dollar that most, if not all moderators know the extent of the injuries, and were told not to tell by the some big wig in the organization. When that happens, I assume the player has broken some team rules, gotten involved in alcohol or drugs, or has some kind of emotional issue. These things happen, but keeping these from the fans serves no purpose.

    I’d like Smith, especially if they could extend him! Vasquez next, then Giles. I could care less if they overpay for any of these 3. We’ve seen this scenario play out before. Twins need player or two to get to the next level, and management in the past always got guys on the cheap. Hope Falvey and Levine are different. If the Twins do make the playoffs, then lose games because of our bullpen, fans will always remember the opportunity lost if we look at cheap options. Make decent offers-90% of our best players will not make the Twins. If you want someone good,don’t insult the other team by low balling them. Those teams quickly lose respect for the Twins when that happens!

    I agree with jkcarew! Crickets from the Twins organization and I surmise people in the know are told to keep quiet. Makes me wonder what the big suspense is?

    I know it’s early June, but games count the same now as they do in September. What good does it do to have a great farm system and have 90% of the good prospects languish in the minors and never make it to the show. The Twins have at least 5 players-Buxton, Rosario, Kepler, Polanco, and probably Sano-they will be in Minnesota for at least the next 5 years. Garver will probably be in that group also. Add Lewis and Kirilloff, and there you go. If they are serious about this year, make something happen NOW!

    Twins are either going to need one of these boys to step up big time, or make some significant trades. It’s evident that only Rogers is trustworthy!

    Absolutely love Strat-O-Matic baseball. Played for 22 years in a league of 8 in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. One of the best experiences of my life!

    I know everyone loves Astradillo, but his lack of hustle(or whatever) really hurt! Looked like they were on their way to a big inning- yuck. The turtle hasn’t hit the ball hard for a month. Swinging on the first pitch every time was cool when the pitchers weren’t aware of that. Twins need to consider sending him down when Garver comes back. Finally!
