  1. The Twins must select a catcher. There are no catchers in the top 30 prospects for the Twins. Chris Williams, a catcher from Clemson, is getting older and has been playing 1B, I have a suggestion: Move Matt Wallner to catcher. He is 6'5" 220 lbs and has a cannon for an arm. He hit mid 90's relieving in college. He is a super left-handed power hitter. He is a relatively slow runner (lumbering) and a corner OF, which the Twins have plenty of. He is rated as a "fringe-average left fielder". The Twins currently have Buck, Celestino, Larnach, Kepler, possibly Kirilloff, possibly Martin, and Gordan slated for OF play. How difficult would this conversion be? If I were Wallner, I would want to do this.
  2. Even though he will not be selected to the AS Game this year, there is no SS I would rather have on my team this year than Carlos Correa,
  3. Good luck to all TD owners with your new venture in Milwaukee. It is my hope that the Brewers fans will enjoy Brewer Fanatic as much as we TD fans enjoy Twins Daily. One word of caution and paraphrasing that great philosopher, Jerry lee Lewis: don't let what made Milwaukee famous, make a fool out of you. Have fun guys.
  4. The old Alka-Seltzer advertisements had a logo and a jingle which said: "Relief is just a swallow away." Falvey needs to "swallow" his pride/inactivity/stubbornness/ "whatever" ... and get some quality relief pitching immediately. The majority of the relief pitchers who the Twins currently have, are not getting the job done and it is demoralizing and costing victories, which are just as important in July as they will be in September. It is foolish to repeat ineffective actions. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
  5. Just like real estate values, pitching depends on location, location, location.
  6. Well I certainly don't feel any better after reading this. I don't think we can count on any of these guys to be effective difference making pitchers this season. Hope I'm wrong.
  7. I like the fact that he is a lefty. But the Twins need some catching prospects. The top 2 available are : Parada and Susac. I hope the Twins get one of them.
  8. The Cardinals have Tommy Edman playing SS with a 2022 WAR of 3.6. They don't need a SS.
  9. I have really enjoyed the Sonny Gray and Chris Archer interviews during the Twins games. Those two pitchers are really nice, humorous persons. It helps me realize these players are humans, who you would like as next door neighbors.
  10. 1) All reports indicate he is a very good influence on the rest of the pitching staff this season; 2) Wes Johnson will be leaving soon; 3) He is the anchor of the Twins staff; 4) He is a good guy and a good pitcher. Sign the man to an extension.
  11. North Carolina Eastern BBQ - pulled pork with a vinegar based sauce.
  12. Tuscaloosa is in Alabama. LSU is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I prefer Juicy Lucies. to Alabama BBQ.
  13. I wish Wes the very best of luck, except when LSU plays the UNC Tarheels.
  14. I anticipate that opposing teams will soon start playing the "Kepler shift" when Kepler is at bat. The first baseman and the second baseman will play in their regular positions. All the other defenders will take this opportunity to go into the dugout and drink gator aid and watch as Kepler hits a 2 hopper to the second baseman.
  15. If Petty stays healthy, he may become the most valuable of all of these players who have been drafted by Falvey. He was very impressive when I was at Spring Training this year. He was the pitcher, who, when warming up, the other players and coaches would watch. His sizzling pitches were darting in and out of the strike zone. He is a special talent who will be successful in the majors for many years. Therefore, Falvey gets an A+ in drafting Petty. However, in my report card, Falvey gets an F for trading him away, even though I love Gray. I would have made Petty untouchable in a trade. I understand the injury risk with an 18 year old fire-balling pitcher, but I tell you, Petty is special and is worth the risk. In three years the Reds will have Hunter Greene and Chase Petty as two young exciting and personable "Aces".
  16. His fielding at SS is aptly described by Tom Froemming as "smooth". I saw Noah Miller at spring training this year and was immediately impressed with his glove work.
