  6. Both Gray and Correa referred to the brotherhood on the Twins team this year. That is nice to hear, especially from these two recently acquired Twins, who are respected veterans. My question is this: "Which came first, the brotherhood or the wins?"
  7. He is worth every penny of the 35 million dollars this year (that's $216,049.38 per game). Hopefully he will be worth every penny of 105 million dollars and will stay at least 3 years as a Minnesota Twin. What a brilliant "out of the box contract" by the FO and Correa's agent. And what a brave commitment by the Twins owner.

  11. I disagree. CC is needed to help the Twinkies to win the AL Central. Keeping CC sends a powerful message to the rest of the team, which is: "Win now!".
  12. Good report Sherry. Thank you. I really do like two sacrifice bunts in one game. In fact, Tim Laudner said in the post game wrap up that he almost fell out of his chair with the second sacrifice bunt in one game. He loved them.
  13. Doc your diagnosis sounds very positive. I'm mainly worried about winning the first game in a playoff and for that we need an ace. Ryan may prove to be the man. Gray is doing well, but we need more. What do you think of having Duran stretch out during the off season and spring training and making him a starter in 2023?
  14. The Twins need that true ace which they have not had since Santana. Maybe Ryan will continue what he is doing and we can call him an ace. In fact I chose to call him an ace today. But seriously, time will tell about young Joe Ryan. Sure would help to get a healthy Maeda back in the rotation. I really enjoy watching him pitch. He is a pitcher that could be a difference maker. Let me ask this question...Would it be worthwhile to see what Duran can do as a starter next year? Why not? A good starter will pitch two to two and a half times the number of innings as a good reliever.
  15. I have enjoyed everyone of these posts. This issue is like a play of light on a baseball diamond's multifaceted surface.
  16. In the grand scheme of things, it will all work out. I can see the Twins trading Ursella to a desperate NL pennant contender who just lost its 3B to an injury sometime in June, for another Joe Ryan-like AAA pitcher. Then bring up Lewis to play 3B. Let's watch to see what positions Lewis plays at St Paul and we will get a better idea of what the FO has planned for Royce's immediate future.
  17. I like Rocco's style of management. Laid back, praises the players when appropriate and does not publicly throw anyone under the bus. Articulate. Good manners. Minnesota nice. Rocco has much more info upon which to base his decisions than we do. Some of this info cannot be shared out of loyalty to the particular player or the coach involved and some info cannot be shared because it would give the opposing teams information they could use against the Twins in a game. Through experiences in my life, I have come to admire the man in the arena. Theodore Roosevelt wrote: "It is not the critic who counts; it is not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming. " Rocco is the leader on the field and in the clubhouse for the Minnesota Twins, my favorite team from even before the Senators moved to Minnesota. I admire his persistent efforts to help my all-time favorite sports team achieve goals which we dream about.
