  1. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.
  2. Lee at 1B is a good idea when Culpepper and Houston are ready for 3B and SS respectively.
  3. I like Martin batting 9th in front of Buck or Martin bat 1st and Buck bat second. There will be no rally ending double plays with Buck at bat, due to Buck's speed.
  4. Why was Rojas not in the top 4? This is what I wrote before I read the incredible stats for the top 4 pitchers in this ranking for minor league pitcher of the month. 0.09 Whip? 45% strikeout rate? What the heck is going on? Amazing. I think I understand why the Twins don't put these top 4 in the major league bullpen right now (except for the injured player), but can you please explain why the Twins don't just promote Quick and Peschi tonight? Tell me the down side. Instead of one of the following: Banda, Orze, Rogers, Garcia, Topa?
  5. What is Joe Ryan's diagnosis and prognosis? This is 9:42 am on Tuesday, May the 5th.
  6. Don't be so hard on yourself JM. As we all know here at TD, we get some posts right and some wrong. I'm glad you are happy that Houston is proving you were mistaken. It simply means that you are wiser today than when you foolishly posted your incredibly short sighted nonsense about Houston. LOL (Just kidding)
  7. Maybe Margot could pinch hit in the late innings. And Gallo can bring the post-game wine.
  8. 1) Let the starters pitch more pitches per game. Shelton is doing that. 2) Find pitchers with funky or unusual pitches, who will never, ever walk the first batter in an inning and make them relievers. Control is key. 3) Get really good fielding shortstops, 3rd basemen, 2nd basemen, first basemen and fast outfielders (all of which will help he pitchers) and play them regularly at their best positions. Foot speed is essential. 4) Get smart catchers who study the opposition's players and who understand the game and can encourage the team's pitchers. Catchers with rifle arms are essential. 5) Draft more tall flame throwing pitchers. And finally, if "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.
  9. Finally a wonderful ending to this awful game. John Klein and his smile during his debut, was worth all the prior pain of this game. Good luck young man
  10. It would be tough to be an announcer like Justin and Corey today. They can't just look away like I can.
  11. 8 runs in the 8th inning. This is what I am used too from this team. I'm going for a walk.
  12. 3 of the 4 top Twins hitters play in the outfield. 3 of the four "wave of high-end talent, pushing up from the minors", play outfield. Only 3 outfielders can play at a time. There is no one, I repeat, no one, to take Jeffers place when he is traded or signs elsewhere, as a free agent. Two other outfielders, Wallner and Outman, are destined to be moved somewhere away from Target Field soon. Lewis is a fading mystery, Keaschall is a weak fielder at 2B and suffering the dreaded sophomore slump at the plate. Lee is holding down SS for Culpepper, and eventually Houston. (who is hitting over .300 and will win a gold glove in the minors this year). Meanwhile I hear the Four Tops singing "The Same Old Song", for our first basemen: Gallo, Santana, France, Clemons and Bell. Hmmm. As Newman would say: "You present quite the conundrum." But then I remember.....This is the life I have chosen. This is why I have been a Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins fan for over 70 years. "Hello, my name is David. I am a Minnesota Twins fan."
  13. Are you saying you would want Margot or Gallo on this years Twins' team?
