  1. The biggest head scratcher at the time was the Varland trade. It did not need to happen. It should not have happened. It was not a money saver. It angered many local Twins fans since Varland was a local favorite. These were the sentiments a year ago, before Varland became an All Star. We humans are not supposed to understand everything in our lifetimes, like the unmeasurable size of the universe, when does it stop being partly cloudy and become partly sunny, if Cinderella's shoe fit perfectly, why did it fall off and the Louis Varland trade.
  2. Beautiful article Seth. It was heartfelt. Best wishes to Stephen. And to you, Seth.
  3. I feel like a proud parent, excited for my son's major league debut. My two other sons, Walker and Marek, are not far behind.
  4. Wonderful news. A smart move by the Twins FO.
  5. Please explain this post. Are you saying the Twins could have gotten Louis Varland as a rule 5 draft pick in 2026?
  6. True, but I felt that trading Miller was a mistake at the time he was traded. I told you so here on TD posts. I value defense.
  7. And Noah Miller's excellent defense at SS is his best asset. After seeing him field his position at spring training when he was in the Twins organization, I became a big Noah Miller fan. I was extremely disappointed when he was traded, and the players the Twins received in the trade were woefully inadequate. Remember Margot set the major league record for the most at bats as a pinch hitter in a season with NO HITS. ...30. Rocco kept running him out to pinch hit, I guess figuring the odds were in Margot's favor.
  8. Did those of you watching the game on tv notice that Lewis glanced toward the first baseman just before the ball was thrown which Lewis bunted successfully to that direction?
  9. At the very least they would provide a spark and energy and hope and get the yips out of the way for 2027
  10. Jenkins and Culpepper may provide the spark this offense needs. Promote them now, before this run for the post season by the Twins, limply slip - slides away.
  11. There is no sense in signing one of these 3 DH'ers. If one of these three is playing, then Bell, who is a switch hitting DH, is on the bench. Bell is hitting .250 with an OPS of .672 and 23 RBI's against lefthanded pitching in 2026. That's adequate for the DH position against Lefties. Plus he is a great clubhouse leader.
  12. DEFENSE. DEFENSE. I agree 100%. Everyone, even you TD contributors who are constant cynical naysayers, must agree that the Twins are playing meaningful baseball in August., 2026.
  13. Baseball has always had the haves and the have nots. throughout its history . Great writers of prose and poetry ( The Mighty Casey and the Mudville Nine) have venerated the lovable losers ( Dem Bums) of major league baseball. Even a hit Broadway musical, "Damn Yankees", has captured the essence of baseball rivalry. It makes the damn Yankees, ( and today it's the wealthy Dodgers) an easy target of our vitriol. Look at the annual spring inveigle of the Pirates and the Washington franchises., and other small market teams. Perineal losers. Woe is me. But part of the allure of being a true baseball fan is the mutual suffering, the annual failure, the despair.. Every year the fall brings sadness and misery to the fans of 29 major league baseball teams. Only one fan base will be jubilant as the leaves die and the numbing cold creeps in. There is a reason that the phrase, "Wait til next year "is a phrase commonly associated with baseball. I will go to my grave hating the Yankees. To hate like this is to be happy.
  14. Good trade for the Twins. Twins need Hoffman for the stretch run this year and all of next year. Hill may never pan out. He's no Randy Johnson nor Chris Sale. Klein probably will have a major league career as a middle reliever. Don't know anything about Pena. But I do know about Hoffman. He is a good closer.
