I did not call any of these players failures. I called the FO and the scouting and development employees of the Twins failures for only producing 1 All Star season from the 13 top Twins ranked minor league hitters... 1 all star season out of the 13 years covered in this article. Injuries happen. Failures happen. Mediocrity happens. I realize that if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. Some of these these players showed flashes for a year, but were mediocre at best for most of their careers. And that is exactly my point. You do not win pennants with below average and average and mediocre players and no all stars. There are 24 position players on each all star squad. 13 years x 24 players =312 chances for a Twin top minor league position player to be an American League all star.. Out of the 312 position players on the American League All Star team plus the 312 position players on the National league All Star team over the 13 years covered in this article, the Twins top rated hitters, named in this article, have had 624 chances to have be an All Star chosen for one of the two All Star teams over 13 seasons. Having only one season out of 624 possible chances is a HUGE FAILURE of the scouting and development employees in my book.

Look carefully at the list of past winners of the Twins leading hitters for the 13, yes 13, previous years. Since 2012, yes 2012. Out of all these past winners who were the very best hitters each year in the Twins minor league system, I only found one (1), yes one, player who ever made a major league All Star team, and that was only one, yes one, year. Miguel Sano in 2017. That is pitiful to the max. Almost an immaculate 13 years of failure by the scouting and development of the Twins franchise and by the front office for not hiring successful employees and for keeping on doing the same thing with the same people in charge year after year after year with the same dismal results.

Wait a minute here. You have assumed that the Twins' front office made the decision as to when the surgery would take place. How do you know it wasn't Buck's decision? How do you know what the doctor recommended? Did Buck get a second or third opinion? If so, what did these doctors recommend? What went into this decision? Were there additional factors that influenced whomever made the final decision? I know Buck has a contractual relationship with the Twins, but I doubt that contract gives the Twins carte blanche to make Buck's health decisions for him.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Wait a minute...Where did the Twins finish this year? Last year? The year before that? ETC. The Twins recent history leads me to belief that something is definitely broken. The evaluation and development could certainly use improvement..

I am happy to report that you are incorrect. Yes, Ryan and the team do have a mutual option for '27, but Ryan remains unted team control whether that mutual option is exercised or not.

For me winters have always been cold and dreary, ever since I was a boy in the 1950's when I selected the original Washington Senators as my lifetime favorite franchise in baseball. First in war, first in peace and last in the American League. I have "Losers Depression" each winter, until the baseball equipment trucks load up for their annual pilgrimage to Florida, and spring training once again begins to rebuild my unrequited hope.

But Arias was a known commodity at the position where the Twins already had Lewis, Lee, Culpepper and Huston, also previous "known commodities at SS." Granted Arias may be better than any of these Twin prospects, but Predicting the future is so difficult.

If we need a fall guy, just release Pablo Lopez because he was injured all year. Or just release the owners for allowing the trade of all the good bullpen arms at one time last year. How ridiculous would that be? We don't have near enough information to form reasonable opinions about this topic. Too many variables at play here.

Hindsight is 20/20. Who predicted that Tolle and Arias would become what they are a year later? Certainly not the Red Sox, who had more information than any other organization on these two fine prospects . It is so difficult to predict future greatness.
