  1. Chief, I agree about questionable management. AJ Pierzynski was the color man on the mlb/tv game last night. AJ also questioned why Gray was not sent out for the 6th inning because the bullpen had been overworked already this year and Gray had had a good, short 5th inning. AJ also said Gordan should have advanced to 3B instead of stopping at 2B on the Celestino hit to RF. He said there was now way he would have been thrown out. AJ criticized Pagan's errant throw to 1B, saying when you come in a game, you've got to be ready to play. I had not been an AJ fan, he is too abrasive for me. but AJ kept making really good points. I did not watch the start of the game, so I did not know who the color man was until late in the game. He also said Gordan may be wearing his pants above his knees in order to get more balls called on low pitches when he is batting. A really interesting point. All in all, AJ really show some keen baseball knowledge. I enjoyed his comments.
  2. Cody, Thanks for this interesting list. Does this rating system also mean that these should be the top 5 players whom the Twins should keep? That's the way I look at it. Hurray for Kep having an outstanding season. I hope he will frequently hit to the left side as long as teams put the shift on him.
  3. Nice Dave. Thanks for the laughs.
  4. When Cleveland plays Chicago this year, I submit the Twins fans should hope for a split. I also find myself pulling for the team with the worse record. By the way, another nice article. You have not been writing as much lately. Maybe tied up in a trial?
  5. I appreciate your proposal.
  6. I feel great about Chase Petty? Oh never mind.
  7. I met Chris Williams when he was just getting started with his pro career in Elizabethton (RIP -sigh). Chris was a very friendly and personable young man who was excited to be in the Twins organization. We kidded each other about our respective schools (UNC and Clemson). Trevor Larnach was also on that team and he had previously hit a homer to help beat the Tar Heels in the college world series. Trevor didn't smile much, but maybe he was having a bad day. .
  8. The powers that be must have seen something more in him than his batting statistics, because he kept getting promoted even with terrible stats with little, to no, improvement year after year. Sometimes Hamilton wasn't catching much either. If I had a son playing baseball, I would show him Hamilton's batting stats and Hamilton's consistent promotions, and tell my son to be a catcher.
  9. When you go to San Francisco, wear some flowers in your hair. How's that for opaque? LOL
  10. Meyer, Stewart and Jay...oh my.
  11. I was most impressed with Johnson's comments out of all the draftees interviewed. He is a very impressive young man. I wish the Twins had had the opportunity to draft him.
  12. Amen RJA. I agree 100%. This is one of the main reasons I enjoy being a Twins fan.
  13. I liked your phrase: "it seems a lot more reasonable to be hopeful than gleeful." It describes this situation perfectly. Are you a professional writer or a poet? Poets must boil down all phrases and select the perfect words, as you just did. Magnificent.
  14. I think Prielipp will need a large signing bonus for the Twins to sign him, because if the assessments of Prielipp are accurate, he could bet on himself, and opt to stay another year at Alabama, and become a top 10 draft selection in 2023. Here's hoping the Twins already have this negotiated with Prielipp's agent. QUESTION: Does college baseball have the same rules as college basketball, where if a college basketball player signs with an agent, he becomes ineligible to play collegiately. If not, why the difference?
  15. I think you may be right Snoop D O double G.
  16. I missed that ABBA reference the first time I read this post. That was very clever.
