  1. And no other team would offer more than that for a number three?
  2. Imo, it is a pipe dream that Berrios signs an extension. It is getting rare for elite talents to do so. As for pitching, waiting for the deadline is a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy.... They aren't likely to be really good, and need more pitching....
  3. Got it. I guess I don't care if they are enlightened, or whatever. I care if the make the team better, or worse.
  4. Minnesota (T)wins 12:32 I know some articles have been posted about the Odorizzi/Palacios trade. I can continue to feel hopeful (or rather less bad?) about the Twins rotation this year? I love the trade, feels kinda weak for TB return, right? Travis Sawchik 12:32 I like the Odorizzi pickup even he's more of a back-end guy...the Twins have a huge SP need and their SP depth was horrendous last season 12:33 Twins didn't have to surrender much either.
  5. That's some serious cherry picking of stats..... https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=1b&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2017&month=0&season1=2017&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0
  6. Doesn't look a lot better.... Let's not forget Santana isn't getting younger, at some point he will get worse. There is hope, but almost none of it has been added by this front office, unless you like Odorizzi
  7. Not sure what any of that had to do with extending him out not? He's a median or worse first baseman the past few years. For a team that won't, as we've seen this year and last, sign expressive players, they apparently need to save every penny they can....
  8. Doesn't matter who their choices were, this is what they accomplished so far.... Usually you judge people on actions, not what they wanted to do, but didn't
  9. Don't they treat all contact discussions with utmost respect?
  10. I don't think everyone had Gordon 8th, given he is in the top 100 on at least two lists. It's really not that hard to find that data on line.
  11. If Kalk sees something.... Shouldn't he have pointed that out last year, when he and ordozzi were on the same team?
  12. I doubt Lombardozzi was ever a top prospect in all of baseball......i will never understand the people that are so sure this guy will fall.
  13. Nope, still need a forty man spot, it's an MLB contract.
  14. I am not yet convinced they have quality. I hope so, but I'm not convinced.
  15. Four of those were on last year's team, that was bad at starting pitching.....
  16. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jake-odorizzi-is-probably-an-adjustment-away/
  17. Agreed. And I've said as much. It's a nice trade, that had to be made, because their other options are bad options at this time.
  18. Like batting average excludes HBP, errors, and walks? All stats include and exclude things. It's just one stat, to provide context.
  19. Now that they've acquired a starter, do they have another guy to DL? Or will they cull someone from the 40 man?
  20. Of course they say that. They aren't going to go to press and say they traded for a mediocre player
  21. It is a risk worth taking, but he's probably not particularly good. He'll need luck, again, I'd guess, to be good. But, the price is good.
