  1. I do think this is a tough decision. But, I think he will be good for three more years, so if they can agree on that length, I do it. Even with the MI depth. Unless they are going to spend that in big time pitching, I don't know where else the money will even go.
  2. Tony left off the part where he's just not good at his job.... How is it tanking? If you are a bad team, and you can't make the playoffs, how is it not just smart business not to sign mediocre players with little upside? If only the local team had realized this, and acted differently..... A floor helps no one. Raising the minimum does. Paying minor league players does. But a floor does nothing.
  3. You don't need a great 2b or superstar CF either. But it sure helps to have great players..... I'm not sure how this is controversial
  4. That money is spent if he is in Minnesota or not. For a million more, they can have guys with options on the roster.. .
  5. Three years of being terrible...I can't imagine I would have liked the timing ever. One year? Sure.
  6. I had a Willie Banks autographed baseball. I was sure it would be worth a ton of money....
  7. Good stuff, sir. I doubt most teams expect him to be that good, or he'd have gone for a lot more. Let's hope they are all wrong.
  8. He's a good player, imo, and fans probably don't appreciate him enough yet.
  9. Agreed. Bad teams should play high variable players. I am guessing Japan or Rochester for Vargas. For your sanity, y'all might want to take a deep breath on Rooker. I like him, but he's not a sure thing imo.
  10. Spotify checks all the boxes the Oracle of Omaha would tell us to check.... So probably.
  11. If he is great again, I predict three years at fifteen a year.
  12. They aren't cutting commercials.
  13. No surprise at all. Good luck to him, I hope he goes the jackpot!
  14. You think Bryant of the cubs was held down because he wasn't ready, not for control purposes? This happens every year, at the beginning of the year. I doubt Berrios was miraculously ready last year.... After a couple stats.
  15. Why do they need post season experience? Isn't having good players more important? It is in my book.
  16. I would be disappointed. One has a future as a good or decent backup. One is past his prime.
  17. Players need rest. Grossman is not a good fielder. He's an ok hitter. I guess it depends on if you want defense or not on the days you rest a starter.
  18. The league is getting younger. It seems teams agree.
  19. I think the approach change is real, I just think expecting thirty home runs as a baseline is optimistic. Good signing, at a good price....
  20. Because batting average is only one measure? Because he's getting older? Because he won't be inexpensive?
  21. Should? I'll take the under. Not a bad signing, but expecting 30 plus bombs?
  22. Preferred Gomez, as he can play an actual position. Gonna be hard to play Sano at DH at all now. Hopefully he won't ever need rest. I don't know what to expect of LoMo, hope he's very good
