  1. It's random, folks. I mean, does anyone think James Shields is the best pitcher on his staff?
  2. If they knew he had a pattern of behaviour, they should shut up an let it continue? Note I said if. That is your argument? Team over morals?
  3. IF a player believes something bad happened, he should just shut up and let it go? Is that your stance? If so, that's how bad things keep happening. If not, in not sure what you are saying.
  4. because he's older and never really been good in the minors. A few spring training ABs don't really mean all that much.
  5. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-designated-hitter/ I'm going with the over here.
  6. Good lineup/roster. two things would make it better for me (realistic things...) 1. If they had signed a veteran RH OF, and some were there for signing. 2. Ok, this one is less realistic, if they had traded for Realmuto I mean, sure, Darvish would be great, but when that didn't happen, Lynn was a better idea than relying on Hughes, imo. A WC contendor.
  7. People way overestimate the order, as having meaning. Other than trying to line up Berrios for Puerto Rico, it's random pretty much.
  8. Just in, Mike Trout is amazing. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-center-field/
  9. There are other options. If not, the team is in trouble.
  10. I dismiss the likelihood, given how Kinley performed in AA last year, true. Not impossible, not likely.
  11. Buesnitz has options....that's part of his appeal to me. The team has set themselves up with very little flexibility in the pitching staff, the opposite of the Dodgers, for example.
  12. I did and didn't. I have some money in my IRA....so I've been "day trading" with it this week. Just buying AMZN when it drops, and then selling it. Worked today, not quite as well as earlier in the week. Oh, but the rest? crying emoji
  13. League median....a RH OF would have made a ton of sense this off season. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-right-field/ Much more sense than Tyler Kinney, for example.
  14. I'd rather someone with options be in that role. I'd rather someone that wasn't bad in AA had that role.
  15. I think we are likely to disagree on the importance of every single person on the roster being useful.
  16. Because they are trying to win this year, not audition RPs. I get the logic, I don't agree with it.
  17. Because one was good in teh majors last year and one was mediocre in teh minors last year, and that's more indicative of future success than a few innings in spring training.
  18. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-positional-power-rankings-left-field/
  19. One of hte two AL East teams probably will win one of the WC, barring major injuries/surprises. I'd rank the contendors: MN (this is overly optimistic compared to most models) LAA (Ohtani is 23, adjusting to a new country, and coming off an injury. He'll get better) If the Twins had a 23 yo up, with that stuff, people would be excited. TOR/TEX White Sox (the most highly variable team this year imo) BAL TB (they'd be in first if not for the injuries) SEA
  20. I agree, making the decision to not keep Busenitz up more puzzling to me. Kinley does not have enough upside, compared to how easy it is to find RP on the market, or convert starters, to waste a 25 man spot on him for the year. And if he's only used in wasted games, they'll never really know if he is. There are only 25 spots....a playoff contendor should not be wasting one, or two, if you count Hughes....
  21. Not sure I understand what Buesnitz would have had to do last year to show he's better than Kinley, who put up worse numbers in the miinors than Alan didin the majors.....Are they trying to win this year, or not?
  22. They still get half of Polanco, and Escobar is not as bad as people here seem to think. Really, those two look about even on projections....but as the article says, Polanco you can dream on. Esco is what he is.
