  1. Ha, how did I forget that? Idiot..... and ya, they aren't getting Buehler, that's a dream. I'd have to go look at their lists again to see what I'd want....oh well.
  2. If the Twins won't or can't sign Yu, I would explore this opportunity to help LA do so. I would want Buehler first, but I would take Calhoun and two low level players. Then I would try to flip the low level players and some of the Twins existing guys for a pitcher. Calhoun has good DH written all over him.
  3. Matt Kemp can't hit either. And he is super expensive. They would trade him for anyone
  4. no one is disputing that.......but no team is built w/o FA or trades, well, no winning team. At some point, you have the money, you spend it or pocket it. The Twins aren't going to develop their way to a championship, or much of anything else, this year. They have no one in AAA that is ready to come up in the first half, and no big time prospects in AA or AAA that look likely to dominate this year. Again, no one is disputing that players a team develops are cheaper, and more efficient. No one.
  5. especially if you hold UNH.....and NVIDIA as your two largest holdings.....whatever. I don't need that money for years. I hope.
  6. There are no young alternatives in AA or AAA right now. If there were, I might agree. But, they are all left handed, or they don't exist.
  7. I'd take my chances on 3/50 over taking 18......
  8. Ouch.....today is a good reminder that I actually need a job.....
  9. I don't like any of those choices very much.....and I'd prefer someone that can do something other than have a bunch of HRs, but nothing else at all (no defense, no running, no OBP.....those guys offer nothing, imo). I'd roll with Grossman and / or Vargas for now.
  10. If Dozier was mad last year, and they don't sign a big time FA SP, I see very little chance of him wanting to stay. I could actually see him asking for a trade, if the FO and ownership don't acquire pitching. I know if I was him, I'd want to move on in that case. As for the Twins, IMO, they can more easily replace Dozier than they can find/develop starting pitching. I'd probably let him walk, depending on his price, and what budget I have to work with.
  11. The delta between AA and AAA is really big. The delta to the majors is really big. He could be the 200th best pitcher on the entire planet right now, and still be a AAA/AAAA/RP type, and not a starter in the majors.
  12. Eric L of Fangraphs has said in the past he thinks Wade might be a starting OF...
  13. The Cubs added before their core was all there... How did that work?
  14. About half the time iyn my phone today there had been an ad over the next button at the bottom of threads
  15. Yellich just went for more than that.....i think you have to do better than gonsalves for your second piece.
  16. Who is better that is available? Do people think the Twins will outbid everyone next year? Do people think Dozier will stay if the Twins don't get help, after last year? This is one more year of Buxton and Sano. I would prefer they actually try to win while those two are both here.
  17. Relatively young players like Archer are not free agents. How is it better to trade players, than to spend only money?
  18. Serious question... You'd rather the owners pocket the money, than make the team better? Because there aren't many young free agents, ever.
  19. I don't either, but IMO, you still need to sign/acquire better players. He's a start. He's here and effective, imo barring injuries, for 3-4 years. That is really big, given the window of Sano, Buxton, Rosario, Polanco, Kepler.....
  20. Gonna be hard if Gonsalves and Romero gradutate to have a top five, imo. It's also possible Gordon gradutates, though that is less likely, I believe.
  21. Nope, no implication of dishonesty at all. I really have no idea what they are trying or not trying. I just don't care if they are trying. As a fan, not shareholder, not friend of them, not anything other than fan, I want entertaining, winning, baseball.
  22. It is not their job to try to improve the team. It is their job to improve it. Danny Santana tried, didn't mean we should judge him as good or praise him for trying. I will judge them on progress, not being in on players. Others feel differently, that's cool with me.
