  1. All around very good game! Nice job by Varland, he looks legit. And Lopez! And CC.... Very pleased with this season start, especially w/o Polanco.
  2. People want to DFA Gordon? Tough crowd. AK to right. Polanco to second. Julien to first. Gallo to center. That's your best hitting option..... Kepler to the bench.
  3. Also, unreal at least one person made a joke about Farmer in the game thread. Utterly tasteless.
  4. it's silly to save a few hundred K only to have a short bench. They waste so much more money than that...
  5. A month or more of Taylor "hitting" isn't going to help this team ..... we know that. What we don't know is if Julien or Wallner can hit or not. We also know Gallo is a very good CF...... Heck, put Farmer at third and Miranda at first, but let's stop pretending Taylor is going to hit enough for this offense. I understand not wanting to commit to a long term 1B option, if you think AK can come back.....but teaching one of those two to play first isn't going to set them back (it might slow Julien, but does anyone thing he's a long term 2B with Lee, Lewis, Salas, et. al. in the minor?).
  6. When was the last time there was a significant trade in May or even June? It's not happening. They need to commit to Gallo in the OF, and Julien or Wallner or someone who can hit learning first. Or Wallner in the OF in place of Kepler, who is 3+ years into a hitting slump.....I don't know if Wallner can hit or not, but I'm pretty sure we know about Kepler at this point. Heck, if Lee hits well for a month, I'd call him up. Other teams seem ok with having young players out there w/o much/any AAA experience. They need Polanco to come back hitting.
  7. Really amazing how long it takes them to make these moves
  8. This doesn't even discuss previous years, or why they pitched so few innings last year?
  9. Did we know Raya was hurt? I likely just missed it. Encouraging performance by Enlow!
  10. I always give up on 20 year olds........ Whether they overdrafted him or not isn't even relevant to who plays where at this point.
  11. Because who plays SS at this level, right now? That's the question......there are at least two good options, who both could be playing SS there every day. I'm not sure how this isn't a question.
  12. Always pass on the great pitching prospects, wonder why you don't have elite pitching.....so, yes, I'll be disappointed if that happens. But not surprised.
  13. I'd rotate them, as said above. But, Salas probably has more upside, so I'd defer to him some. Frankly, I'd move him to second right now, but that's not how teams roll......While I understand why, I strongly disagree. Put him at second where he can succeed faster, and make him more comfortable. It's also where he's more likely to make the majors and make money.
  14. You want them just sitting around when the OFer is all healthy? Because the only reason Castro played is because Kepler was dinged up. He's also on the roster in case they need an INF....because that's what bench players are for, to fill in as needed.
  15. They sat one regular that wasn't hurt.....how was it a throw away lineup?
  16. That's not how decisions work. If you drive drink and don't die, it wasn't a good decision you should repeat.
  17. They aren't trading good veterans if they are in the playoff hunt. I have no idea why people keep suggesting this.
