  1. Then I don't get the AK question.
  2. They weren't desperate. They paid Turner, seager, money. That's the market.
  3. One elite player and two rookies, or three bad to risky players. Which is more likely to be helpful year after year?
  4. Sure. He could be great. For one year. Then what? Because all their young OF are now in the minors....
  5. How has signing bad players worked? Like Happ, Shoemaker, et. al.? That doesn't work either.
  6. Are you suggesting Gallo will play first?
  7. Who has a top end pitcher they don't want, but wants two older players?
  8. Actually, no. Nearly every one of them was better. Gordon was much better. Had Wallner been up all year, he'd have been twice as good.
  9. 40 home runs? How many players did that last year? Wow.
  10. I'd give up nothing to get a guy that you want Lewis to replace by June. Well, money. But not players.
  11. If I ran the team, Lee would be playing third in AA. Lewis would be the shortstop when healthy. Martin would be in LF or second depending on how they feel about Julien at second. AK would get every chance to be healthy. If so that works, Miranda is your DH and backup at first and third.
  12. Almost no players are signed and traded that same year. It is pretty rare.
  13. Agree with Chief. Winner.
  14. I think they are hoping for a major bounceback, health from everyone, and to add players at the break. Also, trying not to look cheap. But, he's here for 1 year. It's not what I'd do.....
  15. they both lose.....At least MN can sign a different Gallo next year, or something.
  16. The best thing about this signing is that it is driving traffic to TD, and the owners and writers are getting PAID.
  17. Right? He's the starter until June or July, when he's either benched or traded (unless everyone is healthy and better than last year, maybe he's a legit starter and not traded). Unless Kepler is traded, Larnach is on the bench or in the minors. Heck of a draft record for this FO.....
  18. He was bad (or awful) 2 of the last three years, with a great year 2 years ago. What's the most likely outcome here in your mind?
  19. Yet. There are still 1-1.5 WAR pitchers out there. CC and two rookies, or three Gallos.....your choice.
  20. So, I guess Gordon is on the bench now. As is Larnach, and Wallner in AAA. Not sure how Larnach shows he belongs while sitting on the bench. Martin is in AAA now, maybe AA.
  21. How will they live up to expectations if Gallo is playing, and they aren't? If he's even good, let alone great, he won't be back in MN. This solves nothing in the long run. Nothing.
