  1. Like Ryan and Varland and Ober? Like Duran? Like Arraez? Like Gordon, who is finally showing something? Like Wallner? Or Larnach (before getting hurt)? Fangraphs has MN 18th in rankings. Yes, they are down, but then, they dealt for Gray, was that bad? Would you rather they not have Gray right now? I get that Mahle got hurt, sucks for sure.....Also, the Twins made the playoffs in 19 and 20, kind of hurt their draft position.....But the idea the system is a barren wasteland, as some have stated, just isn't true. If Lewis is finally healthy and a few others are what some here think they are, I think people will be very happy in a couple years.
  2. They signed CC and traded for at least four pitchers last year.....I'm baffled anyone thinks last year was a half measure. Utterly baffled. I do agree that they should be going for it this year, given the status of their pitchers and FA......but it takes two to tango, as they say. They might try very hard, but even Aaron Judge only succeeds 30 some percent of the time....Not that I'm going to give them a pass. If they strike out on the top guys, they better still improve in other ways. As for attendance, that is largely correlated to the previous year. Well, we all know how the previous year went.... If the Twins are winning and the news stops portraying downtown as a hell hole, people will come.
  3. Agreed, but there may be good reasons. I'd want a couple good prospects that I can include in a package for another player, like a legit starting pitcher or RH OF.... Though I have no idea which OF are available. Or catcher.
  4. The genesis of the post you responded to was that the twins should sign Rodon, as he was less risky than CC..... I'd be good with either, but I prefer CC.
  5. Which would you rather sign?
  6. You'd rather pay 130 million for Rodon?
  7. You'd rather the owner keep the money, and not pay players?
  8. Sure, I'd rather have a better pitcher. Can people name an available one?
  9. I'd make that deal 100 times out of 100 if I'm Miami. I would not do that if I'm MN, no way.
  10. Those three easily get Lopez. Probably an overpay.
  11. Sure, but it also makes sense that if you think a guy is going to be good for 8 years, to sign him for 11 and spread the money out. Pretty sure that's what teams that signed the huge contracts this week did.
  12. I would rather like to get Crawford and Bart on the Twins. I'd rather get CC, but Crawford is a good player, if old. And Bart? Worth a shot for sure. Was once THE GUY in the minors. I'd want another minor league player for Arraez in that deal, but I'd settle for just those two, I think.
  13. I'd trade Polanco for him, that would be a steal for the Twins (given their position players and minor league players). So I doubt Miami would.
  14. Rooker isn't a miss? We clearly have different definitions of that. I'm suggesting that the best player at 5 will want number 5 money....but I could be wrong.
  15. How are Rooker and Enlow doing? Remember the excitement here? Ugh. Just Ugh. Draft the best player.
  16. Maybe, but I'm not betting on that and punting the current year with Gray, Mahle, Maeda and others on the roster..... Not adding to this team is giving up on this roster, frankly. I recall when people said the Twins were all set up with Mauer and Morneau.....you just don't know the future health or production of any player. The division is still ripe for the taking. Go for it.
  17. Which two? There are zero stars havable at that price, any year. Also, sign CC and deal some prospects for a legit number 2 pitcher.....
  18. You'd rather pay a pitcher (who I think is older) 180 million over six years? Brave.
  19. So, the owners should keep the money and not pay players?
  20. Tatis will opt out after this year ... They aren't dealing anyone unless they get pitching back.
  21. Where do you plan to get great pitching? It's not like Lewis or Buxton is healthy.....
  22. If he's in the majors less than two years from being drafted, that would be amazing.
