  1. Anything but UHG, please.
  2. Sands and Gallo can make room on the 40, easy. They are in the bottom five in CF production. Are we trying to win, or just tread water? Martin now has five AAA homeruns...... Zero need to bring back Gordon..
  3. to be clear, I don't expect this. For some reason they are content with guys that can't produce heading into the playoffs, instead of taking a chance to be better. Fear is no way to win anything in life.
  4. Twins are near the bottom of the majors in CF production....and it isn't close. Martin should be the starting CF right now. If it doesn't work, put MAT back in.....DFA Gallo or Sands to make room.
  5. Not aggressive at all. Many teams have already done this. If the Twins don't, I'll be disappointed.
  6. I like Polanco. I don't think I keep him.... 1. He's not very good defensively. You want a good defensive bench guy to replace Julien late in games. Who is your backup SS if he's on the roster and Farmer isn't? 2. He's not been healthy for two years. Not sure why he would be next year. 3. He blocks young players. THIS FO has shown they LOVE veterans. I mean, Julien was great in replacing Polanco the first time, but was sent down and was only up again because Polanco got hurt a second time. I don't trust this FO to give Lee or Severino shots next year if Polanco is on the roster. 4. He's better than many teams' 2b, and has trade value. 5. That's a good chuck of change for a backup. 6. He's not ever going to be demoted to AAA for depth reasons. If they do keep him, I hope they are smart enough to move on if he doesn't play well (Gallo indicates that's unlikely) or if Lee and/or Severino are mashing next year.
  7. I would never have guessed it was that bad had I not looked....that's why context is so important when looking at value. Everyone else is just better.....
  8. As chief pointed out above, there weren't openers then either....it isn't "new analytics" at all.
  9. Free Austin Martin! On a more serious note, you gotta like what Pierson Ohl is doing. I also retract all the nice things I said about Dobnak two weeks ago (in my defense, I was traveling in Europe and was just in a good mood).
  10. I have no idea if Severino is better or worse at the MLB level....but it would be hard to be worse at this point. I wish Gallo had worked out, it was an interesting risk (though more money than needed, imo).
  11. No other manager makes a different decision there. It is how the game works. I don't even know how this is debatable (other than the FO only gave him the choice of Gallo, but that's not his fault).
  12. Why not? He literally can't be worse than Gallo has been. he has to be protected this year.....why not?
  13. Good week, shocking result from Keuchel. Good for him! The sooner Gallo is gone, the better. Polanco shouldn't be far behind, alas, as I've always liked him. The team is better the more they play young guys.......there is a AAA OF with great speed and on base ability, former top prospect who is now healthy.....if only there was a position where they were underperfroming, like CF where they are near last in all the majors in war.....or first base....
  14. Arraez had almost no experience. There's no excuse for Gallo to be on this roster. Keuchel was truly surprising today. Good for him.
  15. Taylor is 30th in fwar among CF.....
  16. Wow. That's some insane cherry picking of one stat. He's been bad overall as a hitter. Of CF with at least 300 at bats, he's 26th offensively overall. And much worse since his hot start. He has all of 1.3 fwar, and that's with his defense. He's not a starter on a great team. He's a great fourth OF.
  17. Why was Lewis at DH and polanco at third? Why is Gallo on the roster?
  18. Cardinals calling up a AAA prospect with an OPS under .900....but none of the guys in St. Paul should come up to replace MAT or Gallo......oh, and that prospect is all of 21 years old.
