  1. A few of the interesting squares I had were: - Cave RBI - Jeffers walks on 4 pitches - Twins throwing error ...but I couldn’t connect them
  2. The historic post-season losing streak is making the Twins cocky. I’d be careful if I were them.
  3. I don’t have an opinion on taking out Dobnak after one inning, but he did give up loud contact in the inning he pitched (107.4, 98.0, 103.1 EV for those of you scoring at home)
  4. Speaking of second base. I really wish Arraez was the 2B. The front office deserves credit for moving Arraez up through the system so quickly and getting him to the majors. Kirilloff should be in the lineup tonight. Good luck to Gordon! He is going to need it. If Simmons is ready to return, Gordon’s role looks very limited to me.
  5. I mean, I’m not giving up on Rooker. Right now, though, Rooker feels like a strike out candidate every time he walks to the plate. Broxton can do that, and at least give you the ability to beat out a ground ball and play defense. But Kirilloff would make me happy too
  6. The season might need saving? Broxton in the outfield can prevent runs, has actual speed for pinch running situations, and had a good spring, which was used to justify Garlick making the team. Broxton over Rooker makes the team better today, at little to no cost. Same can be said for Kirilloff of course.
  7. I was thinking removing some pitchers from the 40-man but if Simmons is ready to return, then yeah, option Blankenhorn back. The only other infielder available on the 40-man is Gordon and they do not seem confident in Gordon. Rooker being optioned before Friday’s game also seems like an obvious move.
  8. I think Broxton needs to be up, too. That means cutting someone from the 40-man, but it would be like a kid in a candy store if it was up to me who to cut.
  9. It would be interesting to see data on how often a runner on second, with no out, would be required to run “all out” with maybe a slide, as opposed to easier advances (like a grounder to second or ball in the gap), or jogging home on a home run, or just standing out there the whole inning as batters strike out or line out. I will guess that the data favors leaving Donaldson in the game. ... but I don’t know
  10. I’m not a fan of pulling Donaldson there. As it played out, Donaldson’s spot was due up fifth the next inning. That could be a two-on, two-out RBI situation.
  11. I will say, Colome did look overpowering against Oakland’s no. 9 hitter (before walking him).
  12. Welcome to the blogs! I am more than ready to see if Dobnak can fill that five spot in the rotation.
  13. One big issue is the games need to be played. It’s a 162-game season this time.
  14. Complete radio silence from the team and the beat writers since this Week-in-Review was published. be nice to know what's going on, even if its just a "we don't know what's going on yet"
  15. I’m assuming MLB is waiting on 24-hour test results from yesterday afternoon, and that we will hear more in a few hours. Per Twitter, the Twins have kicked all communications on this up to MLB. However, Falvey will be going on ‘CCO 830 at 2 PM, so I hear.
  16. He actually won the bet. It was for the double header.
  17. I am preparing to be bewildered...
  18. I agree — Dobnak will be coming off the books about that time, so they’ll have plenty of money
  19. I liked the idea of keeping a long guy in the game if he’s warmed up, and effective. Instead of bringing in a string of guys cold off the bench until one of them implodes.
  20. Red Sox were, or are, on a 6-game Win streak. I liked the idea of Happ starting today, and Dobnak entering the game after any rain delay. As someone upthread said, this might not be the last time a game is cancelled for these reasons. I’m going to guess there is a 7-inning double header Thurs.
  21. Yes, let’s try better to toe that line.
  22. Right. If not for the stupid rule where the other team gets to start the inning with a runner on second...
  23. To bring you up to speed: The Twins would be undefeated, if not for the games when the other team scored more runs.
  24. I’m all for it. I see the same as you. Rocco seems to have gotten much more conventional with his player usage in 2021 than in 2019. For example, bullpen. In 2019 he mixed and matched according to game situation, Rogers, Hildenberger, Blake Parker were the guys early in the season. But this year it looks like he’s going with the closer role, and also the more conventional “7th inning” and “8th inning” guys as well. That said, I’d bet someone else gets the next save opportunity.
