It’s not far fetched to say that Gray might pitch to this level through the All Star Break. Additional good comps would be Scott Erickson and Francisco Liriano, who were pure magic for half a season before probabilities caught up to them.

Not to disagree with you, but for context, the other big shortstop free agents Xander Bogaerts, Trea Turner, and Dansby Swanson have all had 1 day off each so far, Correa has had four. -
Our permanent full-time DH (DH stands for ‘Designated Hitter’) is now ranked 7th out of 11 of all qualifying DH in OPS, and is closer to 8th place than 6th. (in HR ranks 5 of 11 and RBI, 6 of 11). Anyway. I’m ready for the Twins to try someone else at DH, and maybe see if there is a position in the field that our current DH can go play.

All of Jax’s luck is going to Brock Stewart! Jax has one pitch, but he throws it well. The walks may be a result of batters knowing what’s coming, and laying off. If so, it means the walks are baked in to Jax’s good numbers so far. If Jax were to begin throwing more strikes in order to cut down on the walks, then you would see more balls in play. The fastball is hittable. Taylor Rogers made a career of his slider being his one really good pitch, so it’s not impossible, but I’m more on the side of the posters who get the jitters when Jax comes in. I’m also slow to like certain guys, so grains of salt and all that. -
The thing is, AAA does not strike me as a place to clear one’s mind. I think Miranda and the team would have been better off by giving him some days off in the big league dugout, not the AAA dugout. That said, the best thing for the Twins right now is for Miranda not to be playing, so not a wrong move to make.
