    Throwing junk can work if you can throw strikes. He was walking everyone last season but has found the strike zone in 2026.

    OPS includes slugging. On base plus slugging. Roden has an OPS of 915 in 579 plate appearances at AAA. He’s a good bet to put up an OPS of 715 in the majors with good defense. The team could use that right now. Jenkins has an OPS of 825 in 150 PA this season. He’s a good bet to put up an OPS of 625 in the majors this season. His upside is higher because he’s 5 years younger but all the statistics say Roden is the better player right now.

    That’s fine, but it is in direct contrast to the statistical record where Roden has 100 points more OPS in AAA.

    The Twins are on a knife edge tipping point right now and what they do might come down to what they are offered. If New York decides they absolutely need to make the World Series and offer Lombard, Rodriguez, Lagrange and Hess for Joe Ryan and Ryan Jeffers then the Twins will sell. The Dodgers and Brewers have enough talent to make stupid offers as well.

    As someone else mentioned, those expiring contracts will only have 33% remaining at the deadline. Adding three $10M relievers only costs $10M in added payroll.

    Fedko has also struggled with every level promotion. I think the Twins are doing him a favor by letting him fail in limited exposure so he knows what he needs to work on to improve.

    It is clear they need to add to the bullpen to get through August and September and compete in the postseason. Spending cash on expensive relievers is better than spending prospects. So we have to find sellers with relievers who are barely worth their contract. Sellers: Angels, Royals, Tigers, Rockies, Mets, Giants, Reds Expensive veteran relievers on those rosters: Kenley Jansen, Antonio Senzatela, Carlos Estevez, Luke Weaver, AJ Minter, Emilio Pagan, Kyle Finnegan, Matt Strahm, Pierce Johnson, Caleb Ferguson, Will Vest, John Schreiber, Brock Burke, Jason Foley, Brooks Raley, JT Brubaker

    “The 21-year-old appeared in five games for St. Paul this week, going 6-for-19 (.316) with a double, a triple, a home run, and two RBIs. His overall Triple-A numbers continue to impress; he's posted an .835 OPS and a 119 wRC+ through 33 games.” Those numbers are not impressive at all in AAA. I would expect an OPS around 1000 for a corner outfield prospect in AAA. There is a 200+ point drop in OPS between AAA and the majors.

    So who should get benched in favor of the player who is obviously pressing and overwhelmed?

    I have watched his at bats. He looks like Lewis did before they demoted him to AAA. He’s chasing garbage and unable to do damage on pitches in the zone.

    I agree with this. I don’t think the American League has a really good team this season. Yankees have been carried by their starting pitching and Judge.

    Current ETA for Houston is a couple months before Royce becomes a free agent.

    They were 100% correct that McCusker isn’t good enough to play in MLB. Fedko has played worse than all the other players on the roster. That isn’t going to earn him more playing time.

    If you’re injured it is a terrible idea to play in an exhibition game.

    I’ve already watched Lewis make five plays at first base that Bell can’t make and it’s only been a couple weeks.

    Keaschall is an outfielder now, which means one fewer spot. They put Fedko on the 40-man roster as well.

    Did you know if a catcher throws to second base on a steal and nobody covers the base, that is scored as a throwing error on the catcher?
