  1. Is there any news about a buyout in Falvey’s contract? That could explain the timing.
  2. I would be frustrated too if ownership said, "Spend the money to get Carlos Correa" followed by "Cut spending $30M".
  3. Convert a starter, try to flip him at the deadline if the experiment is successful.
  4. That's when they demoted St. Peter and promoted Falvey.
  5. Every fired CEO who says they want to spend more time with their family is lying.
  6. Tom Pohlad seems to have some experience actually running a business. He seems to have left PAR in better shape than he found it. We will get to see how the "difference of opinion" plays out. There is nobody left to buy in free agency, so they can't pivot and spend money even if they wanted to. My guess is we will see Joe Ryan traded. Nobody is buying tickets. That means nobody will care if the team is good or terrible in 2026. Don't expect Buxton, Lopez, Jeffers, Bell or Ober to be with the team in September.
  7. Considering how bad Adams was, I certainly hope so. If the others can't beat a 7.49 ERA, then why were they added to the roster? Putting Adams on the 40-man roster to avoid the Rule 5 draft looks like a mistake.
  8. Did he really set that as a goal? His goal for the season was to finish out of the playoffs and waste the trade value of Jeffers, Ryan, Buxton and Lopez just to win 75 games instead of winning 65 games?
  9. They need to replace both Ohl and Adams with better pitchers.
  10. If the Twins truly are waiting for an offer they can't refuse, they should realize that the players they have to trade (Ryan, Lopez, Jeffers, Buxton) are declining in value with every game they play. Ober is the only one who might be worth more in July than he is right now.
  11. Buy Eddie Julien, get a free Ohl change? It's a shame that Ohl's best pitch is his changeup and I never made an oil change joke before now.
  12. Who is the next to go off the 40-man roster - Alex Jackson, Ryan Kriedler, James Outman or Travis Adams?
  13. Ohl's changeup might actually work in Colorado. Same with Julien's bat in the thin air. I like the pitcher the Twins received. There is some real upside. He should get to Double-A this summer. From Blake Street Banter
  14. I actually hope they do trade some of their prospects (not Jenkins) for established players. After seeing how little it took to get Gore from Washington, I'd love to see the Twins trade with them to add CJ Abrams to the roster. It makes little sense to keep Ryan, Buxton, Lopez, Ober and Jeffers if they aren't going to add some players who can help in 2026-27.
  15. OAA is a cumulative stat, not a rate stat. For 2025 Larnach is -4 OAA in 441 innings (-2 Total Zone, -5 DRS), Wallner is -4 OAA in 654 innings (-6 Total Zone, -6 DRS). On a rate basis, Wallner is slightly better. Larnach is also getting compared to LF, who are generally worse fielders than RF. That is a point for Wallner. Neither one is good, but Wallner actually rates marginally better by the defensive stats.
  16. Wallner actually rates higher in fielding than Larnach. He runs faster and throws harder than Larnach. That's why Wallner played more RF and Larnach played more DH last season. Martin LF, Wallner RF, Bell DH, Clemens/Caratini 1B is the best defensive alignment.
  17. Just wait several years and hope players get better seems to be the front office mantra.
  18. The MLB is listing it's top 10 players by position and it is striking how few Twins will be on the lists. Only Joe Ryan #73 and Byron Buxton #42 made their top 100 players list. They aren't going to win anything by surrounding two good players with below average players everywhere else.
  19. I don't understand how adding 12 points of batting average is going to improve Lee's WAR by 2.5. He was a -0.8 WAR player with that batting line last year. His defense is unlikely to improve because he is limited by his athleticism.
  20. I agree that it is strange to try to "contend" with the worst starting SS in the league. The Twins might end up with the worst defense in baseball. Only Lewis and Buxton project as even average defenders.
