    It's funny how the Twins are the only small market team that can't seem to afford free agents. It's even funnier still that the Twins aren't a small market team, but instead a mid-market team like Colorado, Detroit, St. Louis and Seattle.

    Eventually you run out of playing time in AAA. Right now the AAA outfield looks like Martin, Larnach and Thompson with Kiersey on the bench.

    I'm hopeful that the Twins can get their TV broadcast situation figured out before the trade deadline.

    Sounds like I will be visiting the museum a different time and watching the ceremony on TV from my home like most years. I have a trip plan that I'd like to execute eventually that includes Cooperstown, Niagara Falls and the Corning Glass museum.

    Looks like the Angels are loading up in the same manner. I don't think they will be as hesitant to sell this summer.

    Lots of deals with opt outs. That will mean a lot of speculation at the trade deadline again for all of these players.

    Joe Mauer is in the Hall of Fame is going to be the big news before Twins Fest this year.

    That shouldn't be a concern. The only reason the Twins would pay him $6M is if they want to give the Yankees salary relief. Instead the Twins would pay Hicks the league minimum salary and the Yankees would pay $10M.

    I grew up reading baseball biographies. It was pretty much a guarantee that a hall of famer would have a biography in the library. I can't imagine anyone writing an adult biography of Joe Mauer. It would be a terribly boring book. A children's book is a much better fit. Could be worse - Frank Thomas got a cookbook when he was inducted.     You literally cannot pay someone less than Aaron Hicks. Do you want them to go with a 25 man roster and keep a spot open to save money?
