  1. Dobnak is mostly using up innings that should go to other pitchers. I think I might demote him to Double-A if I was in charge.
  2. That's not fair to Milwaukee. They tend to go for it when they have a chance.
  3. He's a bargain. He's a top of the rotation pitcher at a price that is half of what other top of the rotation pitchers are commanding. 3 years, $64M is an absolute steal for a top of the rotation pitcher.

    Imagine if he had pitched!
  5. I expect ownership would say "We can finish in 4th place without paying Correa".
  6. With the benefit of hindsight, the Twins should have traded Max Kepler at the deadline. They should have traded Carlos Santana as well, his production was mostly in June.
  7. I think there is a possibility that Correa requests a trade this off season and the Twins accommodate him. The Giants (for example) would be happy to take the next 4 years of Correa's contract.
  8. All that proves is the Cleveland Guardians are a lot better at baseball than Pittsburgh's AAA team.
  9. Or he could throw one pitch and suffer a career ending injury (if he hasn't already).
  10. Pitchers get injured often and you only get a 40-man roster to start the season. Most organizations are scrambling to find warm bodies to fill the 14th spot on the pitching staff at the end of the season.
  11. All sorts of benefits to the players to get experience in playoff games. All sorts of opportunities for them to shine on a big stage. Playoff baseball is fun. Why do you hate fun?
  12. Other posters have called him the clutch god MVP of the team. You don't pinch hit for the clutch god MVP of the team.
  13. I don't see any upside sending Eeles to the AFL to beat up on A-ball pitching again. Fall instructs, yes.
  14. Henriquez has pitched a lot better than Varland this season.
  15. If they're moving players it isn't quite as drastic. They move outfielders around the outfield, corner infielders between 1B and 3B and up the middle infielders between 2B, SS and 3B. Those positions require a lot of the same fundamentals. It is hard to be good at both SS and CF (for example) because there is only so much time in the day to practice each position and you're competing against players who only play SS or only play CF.
  16. Buxton's cortisone shot and Correa's plasma rich platelet injection fit that description.
  17. I think we already have selected for elite hand-eye-coordination and reaction time among hitters. Visual-motor response time isn't going to get any faster.
  18. They already have that guy - Willi Castro. Jurickson Profar also fits the profile.
