  1. I guess this is a day off filler - what can we write about - how about speculating? Of all the trades only the first makes any sense, but right now none of them make sense unless the Marlins want to make another before the deadline deal. I am more interested in what we consider our depth at each position - not counting the one and out Margot and Santana or the not to be resigned Farmer. By the way - your Pressly trade reminds me of Terry Ryan who used to love to get reunions with players who left and seldom did it ever work out.
  2. I always look first at the pitching prospects - today was not a good day to do that.
  3. What a refreshing and encouraging game! Players who are in consideration for demotion to get Lewis in place did well, Pablo looked like the pitcher we hope for and the team just looked good.
  4. I agree with the logic of dumping veterans who are underperforming and are not part of the future and keeping those we need to be part of the next few years. Margot and Farmer being cut would not mean anything negative to the team. Otherwise I vote for Julien - I am really disappointed and would love to see him get reset. I do not know what to think about Kiriloff.
  5. Bench players are a lot like bullpen. Hot and cold year to year. It is a difficult thing to be ready at a moment's notice. But, at the price we are paying for him we can't afford to have non-productive
  6. I think we will make this trade right after we acquire Judge and Soto. Reminds me of one stanza of a favorite song - Day Dream Believer: You once thought of me As a white knight on his steed Now you know how happy I can be Oh, and our good times starts and end Without dollar one to spend But how much, baby, do we really need
  7. I am not upset by either trade, but who would we like to have? Both.
  8. I hope you are right. But during our last streak of losses the BP has not been the strength we hoped for.
  9. The lesson I get from this is that it is not how hard you hit the ball, but where you hit the ball. Velocity can be overrated.
  10. Ryan is looking great, but the early season articles about the Twins having, potentially, the best BP have to be disregarded as we struggle to compete on the mound for nine innings. Glad to have both Larnach and Miranda going yard. We need them.
  11. I'm delighted that he's doing so well, but very disappointed that Pablo is having such an inconsistent season. By the way, how is Sonny gray working out?
  12. Neither one should prevent Keirsey from coming up
  13. Please - I have been wearing out the comment sections pleading for this. Why hasn't it happened already? Defense in CF is a critical - up the middle has always been important. In a flyball era CF comes up significantly in importance. What is Margot contributing? Why not make a change?
  14. No ranking - just excited to see three great prospects. But I feel bad that Lee and Jenkins got the Twins injury bug this year.
  15. You have not convinced me - bring up Keirsey.
  16. I keep looking for Cossetti (I hope that I have the name right) he has caught my eye and I have high hopes for the young catcher.
  17. I loved watching Carew bat. He was an artist. And yes - BA counted as a great accomplishment.
  18. This is a perfect opportunity to dump Margot - but first the FO has to get past its own egos.
  19. Nice thought article. It is inconsistency that drives the fans crazy. The terrible start, the 12 game ride to the top and then the current crash. Ups and downs are not supposed to be such wide swings. How to even things out? Not sure what answers the coaches have or the manager. I do advocate taking the foot off the platoon pedal and playing the players doing the best regardless of who is pitching. Let this be a measure of consistency. I also see the need for the more traditional BP roles being established. Let players anticipate when and how they will be used. Finally when players are not producing over this length of time, move them down or out and get some fresh blood in the lineup.

  21. As I looked at the various RP I blanked on many of them and just chose a sampling. Robles and Colome were solid until they came to us. Then what? Did we miss something in evaluation or did we misuse them?
